You cannot slip your pivot, but you can lift your pivot as long as you shoot or pass before putting the pivot back down. Pivot traveling rules are based on either slipping the pivot or changing your pivot. Your pivot isn't officially changed until the foot comes back down. Like a drop step..every player ever lifts their pivot foot on drop steps, but they are legal.

I had to pause it to see his right foot even slip over as he came around. I was only speaking on the basis of simply lifting the pivot which wouldn't be a travel. I didn't know his pivot foot slipped like that.

Like I said earlier, it's something that a ref would almost never call. That kind of stuff happens all the time but tecnically it is a travel.
