Go Ducks
Yay!
Go Ducks
Not to start a debate here, 'cause that's not what I'm trying to do, but I think it's important to realize that Kane is as effective an offensive player as he is because he's surrounded by guys like Toews and Hossa who can handle the tough assignments (and thrive against them).
For example, see below (data for all CHI forwards this season+playoffs):
(edit: I changed the size variable to Pts/60 to convey the offensive production of these players. Yes, Kane is very productive as you'd expect. So is Toews.)
Kane gets among the most offensive zone starts on the team, and faces medium competition -- on average! That's despite the fact that most opposing teams try to send their best players against him to limit his effectiveness. So really there's a see-saw effect where Quenneville attempts to use Kane in high leverage situations, whereas opposing coaches try to counteract that.
Kane is a phenomenal talent but Chicago has great team success because they work like a well-oiled machine, letting all of their players thrive under optimal situations. Unlike a lot of other teams, they're deep enough to have players for pretty much all situations.
TL;DR: Kane and Toews are both really good at what they do
Aww yiss -- this is the thread where the Blackhawks advance to the finals
dstrdl pls
Then you should. We'll even be nice and let him go cheap!Makes sense, I'd take Versteeg over Toews 100 / 100
Does anyone have some juicy quotes from the last thread they could post or link to here regarding Rozsival's injury? I was without Internet for the weekend when it happened, and I would love to read some reactions.
I've tried searching for published articles painting him being out as a good thing, but every sports writer is acting like it's some tragic loss for Chicago. If anyone knows of any articles calling out Rozsival's season ender as a good thing, I'd love to read that too.
which ranger fan was this

You wont find anything like that from the Chicago writers at least. They never call out or criticize the Blackhawks for anything.Does anyone have some juicy quotes from the last thread they could post or link to here regarding Rozsival's injury? NHL.com has a list today of top 5 Conn Smythe candidates. Their list is:
5) Kane
4) Johnson
3) Keith
2) Perry
1) Lundqvist
Toews has 11 points and is a better all-around player. What's difficult to understand?
Toews sucks
Plus he's Canadian, so that's double as good.
Dude. You respond to all those people... and ignore zroid's post which addressed exactly what you're apparently oblivious to.This list makes sense. The one ESPN put out doesnt.
Kane's offensive prowess still outweighs all the other stuff Toews does IMO. I've just never understood how Toews gets all the praise he does. Good player, great possibly, but no way is he top-5 in the game or whatever some people try to argue.
Yuppp
This has to be it.
Although I have heard from multiple people that he is a great guy and is really nice and all that. So he'd probably be decent to hang around with.
Holy shit, where can I watch it?This Boca Juniors-River Plate game has gone bananas. Boca fans tore apart the visiting team's entrance tunnel as they were coming out for the second half, attacked them with tear gas bombs, and have a drone flying around the stadium with a big B on it. Somehow the game is still only "suspended" due to "incidents" rather than Boca just being forced to forfeit.
It's like Philadelphia in the '70s down there.
He reads what he wants to read.Dude. You respond to all those people... and ignore zroid's post which addressed exactly what you're apparently oblivious to.

This coming from the guy who will personally jack off any player born and raised in Minnesota is hilarious. If you can't see how much value Toews has as a player, I don't know what to say.FUBAR McDangles said:This has to be it
Why are south america soccer fans so damn violent? I'll never understand it.It's over. They never restarted the game, and CONMEBOL finally called it off after an hour and sent people home so that the players could safely leave the field.
No idea what they do about the rest of the game. It's part of the Copa Libertadores.

They wont give the conn smythe to a player from a team that doesnt even make the finals.Perry getting the Conn Smythe would have me laughing til next year. Mr Burns style.
Are you even allowed to legally call yourself a Minnesotian(?) if you can't recognise how amazing Toews is?

Not even Suter's parents would take Suter over Toews.I'd take Toews on my team no question. He's better than everyone on the Wild. Except maybe Suter, but defense/center is apples and oranges. And Suter had a terrible playoffs. Toews > Wild

TAKE IT BACK
Toews would have done something about it.His dad just died a few months ago.
Have a heart.

I get that we're talking about Toews but I don't see the Minnesotian context?
How were we supposed to know that when he didn't turn his father's death into a self serving narrative?
No no I was just reversing what he was saying but-He went to Shattuck in Minnesota /shrug
dstrdl pls
An alt account? That's highly illegal!this dude is a manics alt. not even kidding. i knew something fishy was up
I fucking love Kesler and how amazing he's been these yoffs.
He knows Chicago well enough to know how to shut down Toews and Kane.

Pitch Perfect 2 was unreal. I think I got what it takes to be a Barden Bella. #accaexcuseme @AnnaKendrick47 @RyanBourque91
This is apparently how Kevin Hayes gets amped up to play in his first ECF tomorrow:
