2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

You guys running any mods or is that without? Awesome shots everyone.

Poor image quality as the game runs at like 20 FPS with things cranked up but it can be really pretty at times. And I did make my character have freakishly elongated limbs so character models don't always look like that.

Thanks! I use INI tweaks for foliage and shadows and sweetfx for some post processing, like colors, contrast, sharpening etc.
Thanks I'm gonna try them. Excited because I built my first PC. Looking forward to Batman, Fallout and whatever else I can max out hehe.

If you're using ReShade framework, then here's how to set it up.

First, in Common_settings.cfg:
Code:
#define RFX_LogDepth		1

Witcher 3 uses a logarithmic depth buffer.

Then in McFX_settings.cfg:
Code:
#define DOF_NEARBLURCURVE 1000.0
#define DOF_FARBLURCURVE 1.0
#define DOF_BLURRADIUS 50.0
#define DOF_MANUALFOCUS 1
#define DOF_MANUALFOCUSDEPTH 0.2

Basically, with this kind of depth buffer, pretend that the focus starts at the sky and that your camera is the furthest distance away. Higher depth values means you'll be blurring things closer to the camera. It's really weird.

What's the performance drop with that tweak? I already hover dangerously close to going under 30 at 4K with hairworks. Of course the easy solution is to turn it off but it's such a massive difference for the monsters that I prefer to take the hit.

U da man. Thanks a lot!

I hate the crossbow in this game. I don't even bother upgrading them. I basically keep this one around because it reacts nicely to lighting.

Woah that last one Jim. Moody as hell..my favorite shot so far.

Heh. I figured I had to do a pano there, but it didn't quite turn out as good as I hoped. Still worth uploading though :)

Does it kill framerate?

Also... only if we could control the ingame DOF more... that would also be sublime :D Any console settings for that?

Wow, thats way better than the one I took of this location. Didn't have the free cam back than so gameplay-cam it is:

Looking back at it, that sword stands out way too much in the shots I took back then

Honestly I don't know and I don't care because manual DoF like that is only good for screenshots :P

Maybe it's just me but those look waaaay too contrasty. Reminds me of those early XBox One shots where everyone was complaining about crushed blacks :P

Sexy, love me some DoF and dirt lense.

Dayum, that looks fantastic.

Dropped the game after a few hours cause I'm not feeling the combat at all but it sure can look lovely even in stills.

Damn. That's a shame. This is by far the most I've ever been absorbed in an open world game, but I understand that if you don't dig the combat, then it would be hard to get into.

The combat didn't feel right for me immediately either, but now I actually love it. Each encounter forces me to think, especially since I play on the hardest difficulty. It's just a bit of a slog early on though because the signs aren't all that strong.

Damn, I think you just locked up the title card screenshot for the 2016 thread. That shot is insane. Just perfect.

Niiice :)

I must have taken 20 shots there because that location is just so gorgeous.

Anyways, another bear armor shot because I love it

Yeah I've been fiddling around to tone it down a bit. It does get a bit too crushed when the sun is overhead, or when it is too dark underwater beneath a cave.
