2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

Hey, hey now it's my turn on narrative thingers!

Two brothers. In a van. And then a meteor hit. And they ran as fast as they could. From giant cat-monsters. And then a giant tornado came. And that's when things got knocked into twelfth gear...
A Mexican...armada shows up. With weapons made from tomatoes. And you better bet your bottom dollar that these two brothers know how to handle business.

Hold on! There's more. Old women are coming! And they're also in the game and they're gonna come attack these two brothers.
But let's get back to the brothers because they have a strong bond! You don't wanna know about it here, but I'll tell you one thing.
The Moon. It comes crashing into Earth! And what do you do then? Two Brothers!

so I just now found this thread about Minus (i know im a year late) and I'm wondering if there's any possible and easy way to get all my images and GIFs off minus and transplant them to abload.de? or what site is the go-to for large images and or large gifs?

I use sta.sh, it's a deviantart joint so if you happen to have an account at dA, you already have an account at sta.sh as well.

As for getting your minus stuff out of there, hard to say. They used to offer a zip download of any individual gallery, but like every other good feature they had, that's gone. When I moved away I just used some kind of mass downloader to grab everything and then just uploaded them elsewhere.

Just checking out minus now and like half of the images in my gallery don't even load on their site at all. Like, man. It went to shit.

I don't like the super turbo mod that much either. It looks alright but it just looks different to me, definitely not like the E3 visuals

I'll take foggy vanilla over super turbo any day. I prefer the variety of options available in ULM anyways.

Besides, this is E3 Witcher 3, and that mod won't make the game look like any of these. It just changes the colors around and removes fog.

ULM is a very messy method of getting nice lighting, whereas STLM has had each zones lighting modified specifically by the mod creator.

Sorry, I was talking about E3 2014. Here's a comparison (can you guess which is which?. As you can see it does much more than just changing colours, remember, that's what reshade is for :D

The top shot has much better fog, regardless what it's from.

The problem with stuff like STLM is that you are very much at the mercy of the whims and proclivities of the author. This is mostly why I often find choices done by game studios preferable to stuff coming from a (group of) mod authors. Often, the amount of scrutiny undergone with regard to art direction is perceivably higher in the former. A mod like ULM frees you from the choices made by both in one majestic stroke. Now, of course, this only flies if you don't mind tapping through a variety of weather types in any location or time of day. But hey, what's bad for general gameplay is often the drug of choice for the dedicated screenshotter.

I'm wondering if STLM can't be easily integrated with ULM, by the way, like some other lighting mods have been. That way, you could have it all.

All this aside, it still pains me to see those early screenshots and gifs. I've come to like, nay love! The Witcher 3 as it is, but damn...

Trying out the super turbo lighting now and I actually do like it in motion especially in every time except how it looks in broad daylight. I'm gonna tweak my reshade settings to see if I can get it more to my liking or if I'll just take the mod out again.

All of the lines? That's what I did. As to how you change the bindings, just check out the bindings in the MainMenu. If you added them correctly you should see a whole new set of of entries for the mod.

I'm not using the friendly HUD btw.

Scriptmerger is a tool that merges scripts from mods which might otherwise interfere with one another. You can find it on nexus as well.

That Script Merger was the tool I needed! Thank you! Nobody else mentioned that it was a 'tool' and kept saying 'merge scripts' which was Greek to me.

The '0' on the Numpad works great now and finally does what it should!

The only thing is that since I have HairWorks on, there is some flickering when I'm in Free-Cam mode with the hair on Geralt and the head of the Griffin but the pics actually turned out okay! The Free Cam is also quite cumbersome to control - zoom in/out are very slow but side-to-side is very fast. Quite annoying TBH. Also, I notice that the render distance (LOD?) is quite low - I zoomed out from Geralt a few feet and his beard disappeared! LOL..

Anyway, my first humble attempt at some 'action' shots in TW3:

Scratching my head here, but why are you playing maxed out everything @5k res, but when taking pic's you lower it to 4k? Your GPU's can easily go way higher than 5k for screenshots?

No the screenshots I take are at 5K (how do I go higher than that? My monitor is 5K...) but I resized them to post here since picpar screws up if I try to upload any image larger than 10MB. Each image is about 20 - 30MB in 5K since I take them as PNG. Any suggestions on using a better image host? I do have Flickr but I'm going to use that for Wallpaper stuff that I create so for random 5K images, I would like to use something else. Minus was great when it was still around. :nostalgic:

DSR? My monitor is 3440x1440 but I'm grabbing 6880x2880 screenshots.

2 mods I'd recommend:

Ultimate Graphics Options Mod - lets you tweak settings in-game that are only available in the INI allowing you to push higher than Ultra

Ultra grass 3000 - lots and lots of grass. combine this with an increased grass rendering distance and you get this:

"That is the most grass I have ever seen." - a real person

Trying out STLM and really going back and forth on if I like it better or not. Some areas I think look super nice, but something about the way it makes grass look super bright and extra green to me just ruins it for me. Though it only bothers me in daylight, any other time of day doesn't bother me. Will keep tweaking and see what I can get.

I am using "Custom DSR tool" but some folks use SRWE, GeDoSaTo for DX9 games, custom made resolutions, etc etc...I know jim2point0 managed to create a custom 7680x4320 res (insane, I had no luck with my tv) Highest I got it was 6k with custom timings:(

I use Flickr, just made two different accounts, one for full sized pic's and other for downsampled!

Not sure what I'm looking for. Is it the skin? I find that the skin in this game looks pretty good. As does clothing\armor.

Look in the picture I quoted and pay attention to how the darkened-shaded areas of his face (either those parts in shadow, or the crevices) have a pinkish-reddish hue to them, if there was no SSS-approximation. They would just be dark, black, and not have that colour bleed.

Here is just a random screen I took at 1080p ages ago. You can see a similar effect on candles (light transferring beneath the surface), but I am not sure if they work are achieved technically in the same manner.

Yeah they kinda do. Nice shots too, I'm really tempted to buy Project CARS on sale right now but I know I already have enough car games like Asetto Corsa and Dirt Rally that I still haven't played enough of. But man Project CARS looks so nice haha.

Same boat as you are. I like it more in Skellige as it feels colder, and also really opens up the distant vistas and silhouettes, making it feel like a much larger place than in the base game. In Velen, though... yeah everything looks like it's made of astroturf and plastic, and the mountains in the distance are BLINDINGLY white. It's a little too much.
