Been wondering how that card handles Crysis 3.
It has dips but actually runs pretty well at 1440p on very high and SMAA(like 50-70FPS usually depending on the AA, though forget about MSAA and maybe TXAA)...at 1080p it does even better!
 
Crysis 3 still looks great. Especially that foliage.

Wildlands sure has its moments

In the short span that I played it... It looked pretty good. It just performs like absolute dog shit right now =(

I'm not sure those textures were intended to be viewed that closely...

There are so many good looking things in The Witcher 3, but it's never a great idea to get TOO close to the textures :P

Also, why no catchy title this year?

Heh. Some are good (like RotTR) but I guess the point people were trying to make is... why show them off in the PC screenshot thread :P

God this game was so beautiful. Just reminded me how stupid it was that this game was so passed over in graphics discussions in the year it came out compared to a game that looked like smeared dog shit.

1070 should have absolutely no issues with crysis 3 besides bad optimization crap..it should eat it out and spit it 10 times rinse and repeat. game is not even that good looking
If I may ask, what exactly do you mean 'bad optimization crap' ? You looked into the Shader IL and noticed it was poorly written? B/c I think Tiago Sousa would like to know what he did wrong. You do know who Tiago Sousa is, don't you? For your info, no, he's not a crappy programmer who barely knows what he's doing (or do you think 'DOOM' is also poorly optimized? ;))

This 'poorly optimized' bullshit has to stop. Games aren't poorly optimized, in the vast majority of cases they're highly optimized. Take for instance AC 3. "Poorly optimized crap" was the general opinion. Till you look into how they optimized things. E.g. the sun is rendered together with the HUD in 1 pass, in the same shader, so less calls had to be done. The little things matter in this case, and it shows how far they went to cram the best performance out of it.

I think maybe he was referring to how FPS takes a nose dive whenever there are any kind of alpha effects on screen (explosions, smoke, etc). Other than that, Crysis 3 is a game that actually performs really well for how good it looks.
