Yeah I think it's really begining to show that people who think this game is ugly are the same people who would think it was fantastic if it was a PS3 game.
It's like oh it doesn't look good, yet they can't show you anything currently in development that looks better. Apparently some of us have been playing next-gen games 3 years into the future and can tell us what they should look like.
"All I know is what I've seen. That looked bump mapped to me based on what I've seen of bump mapping.
And it doesn't look good. Test Drive does, however."
Olimario looking at those shots, if you told me there were from the SAME game I would believe you, the only difference is one is a still shot in 3D studio max(or whatever they're using) and the other one is in a real game, in motion, where other objects are casting effect on it. One has a big ass shadow on the hood and the other one doesn't. Look at the left side of the Nissan under the mirror where there's a shadow going across the whole care and look at the PG3 car...they LOOOK EXACTLY the same...material, shyniness and everything else but the PG3 car is also reflecting the environment because its being hit by the sun directly.
But I would love to hear WHY you think one looks good and the other looks UGLY. Can you even put the differences you're seeing in words?
oh and ps:
here's a definition of bump mapping so you quit using it and stop sounding like an idiot:
"The process of creating and displaying a texture where the values of the texture are used to simulate the bumpiness of an object's surface. Bump mapping is used to add detail to an image without increasing the number of polygons. Bump maps do not move the geometry of an object, but they do affect the shading of a surface, giving the illusion of a pattern being embossed on the surface. Bumps are applied by matching up a series of grayscale pixels with colored pixels on the rendered, colored object. Lighter grayscale pixels create a sense of maximum relief or maximum"
"An advanced method of displaying textures not as a smooth surface, but as a rough surface which responds to different angles of illumination. Supported only in future hardware and APIs. The water texture here is the result of bump mapping. This is generated by the PixelSquirt chipset."
Now tell me where do you see BUMP mapping on that car? The words alone tell you it has something to do with BUMPS.
I demand some better trolling dammit. If I was a troll I could come up with some REAL motives to down this game. But not what you're using.
