36 minutes of The Order 1886 gameplay (offscreen)

I'm talking about the gameplay feed not assets. The Order blows it away currently

Those same exact assets will be in the gameplay feed

Again UC4 is in pre alpha stage, the models definitely looked as good as The Order, difference is that the camera is much closer in The Order allowing more details to be seen, but feature wise, UC4 outshines the Order

watch the creating Nathan Drake panel

I see. RaD should be proud of themselves. A game with gorgeous graphics, stable frame rate, and solid gameplay is a really big achievement for them :D

However, I thought I would see some more weapons in the demo :(
The combo rifle (assault rifle with an air blast secondary) and shotgun (which is explosive and has three barrels) are in but the guy playing didn't pick them up :(

Yeah, I was waiting for him to pick up the dropped shotgun from the guy he killed. Never happened.

Absolutely stunning looking game, looks like an elegant steampunk gears of war, with some stealth and lockpicking added for balance.very excited to play this.

If any RAD people are reading this, whatever you do, do not feel compelled to compromise your vision for this game in order to satiate the detractors. For some people 'cinematic' has become a dirty word in relation to videogames. Obviously the type of experience you are creating is not for them. That will not stop some of them from posting negative comments simply because they are expecting this game to be something other than what it's supposed to be. You have made it clear this game aims to deliver story, setting and atmosphere on a kind of level rarely delivered in videogames. I for one would like you to know you are on the right track. This latest demo has convinced me this will be the type of immersive experience many of us will absolutely love.

This game would have had to had a complete overhaul if RaD wasn't sticking to their goals. I'm just glad that they finally got to show it off in a manner that sells the game well. Not everyone will like it but it certainly looks like it plays and is paced substantially better than any previous footage.

Looks good in graphics department but not liking the 10 sec of gameplay followed by 20 sec of cutscene and QTE.

I'm skeptical as fuck, but I don't think this is really accurate. Considering how horrendous previous media of this game has been, I was fairly pleased with the amount of space in between. Pacing in general looks like it may be an issue though.

Shinobi selling the game better than Sony did in a year

oh please. people have been shitting on the game since its first trailer. black bars, cinematic, cut scene, no mp, everything they can get their heads into they use it as ammo to shit on the game.

some people are just out there to bitch and whine no matter what.

Love the setting, the graphics are insane, the gunplay looks good (I just hope there is enough of it in the game). Also hope it will be longer than 6 - 8 hours.

The guy playing never even picked up the Three Crown shotgun...... god that triple barrel shotgun.

The combo rifle (assault rifle with an air blast secondary) and shotgun (which is explosive and has three barrels) are in but the guy playing didn't pick them up :(

What a pity! If only that guy picked them up and use them :(

Besides, I am very curious to see these two guns in action too. Weapons in this game always make me excited :D

I don't want to go there. You can have your opinion but there are several things that detract from it being on that pedestal (especially comparing it to PC games that can push 4k visuals). One of them being the game can't even display the full 1080p.

That's the ridiculous thing about arguing visuals with anyone against PC someone always invariably try's to convince you a game looks magically better because its rendered at 4k

the problem with defending the game based on its "cinematic vision" is that neither the story or characters are at all interesting based on what they've shown. When you're touting those elements of your game, people are going to expect Naughty Dog levels of greatness, and that isn't happening here.

Well to be fair they are only showing very fragmented clips of the game. Certainly not enough to give us any kind of idea if it will be strong or not. Another consistency to the latest round of previews has been that what they have played of the story is really intriguing so thats a good sign.

Really? Because this 36 minute demo has me very intrigued by the characters. The acting, music, setting and foreboding tone has me craving to know the lead up to the position the characters are currently in. In fact, I'm struggling to even remember the last time I felt so interested in a game's story. So I'm gonna have to strongly disagree with you on that one.

I honestly hope it turns out great, especially now that February just got a lot less crowded, but I'm really skeptical. I'd love to see a substantive story-related cinematic...

There's a lot of subtext in this video that I want to know about. I love the fact that the world is so intriguing that they've barely had to outline the overall story. There's rebels and lycans and that's about all we know.

What are you suggesting? That games do not look better when rendered at more than 3 or 4 times the typical resolution?

I'm saying that The Order at its current res is far more impressive looking than Metro at 4K.

Yeah I agree. I hope its good and I am more confident by the latest footage and previews but its a bit of a wait and see for me as well.

Not at all interesting? That is entirely subjective.

The story has potential to be very interesting, especially with the introduction of half-breeds. I also think the side conflict between the upper class and the rebels has some potential. The Order being used as glorified guard dogs for the nobility could perhaps lead to resentment among the knights with their role in the whole affair.

In regards to the characters, I don't quite know what you were hoping for. They fit the setting perfectly, and from what we have seen so far aren't one-dimensional dudebros

I think the atmosphere is top notch: the music and voice acting really combine well. "weighty" is a word that is getting used frequently and it applies to more than just movement or weapons.

Seriously. The "sniper overlooking an oblivious crowd" situation is a common one, but in a well-lit room in which you are only about 25 feet away from a few people... and why are they all just standing around this passage?

Yeah that does seem a little silly, if you think about it. They should place him somewhere far less conspicuous. With regard to why there are rebels in disguise standing around, we will have to understand the plot more.

I still have no idea what this game is about. I thought this was all about fighting monsters, but I've seen one werewolf fight in the past year and a half.

Characters aren't interesting? These are believable characters with excellent models and superb voice acting with dialog like they graduated from Oxford. Even the Lycan have personality. The two leads are classic, brute gentlemen who wear pressed fine threads neatly combed hair and moustaches and will cut your throat in a heartbeat and clean the blood with a satin handkerchief.

What's not interesting about that?

Id have to agree, the characters really arent that interesting, at least what they have shown. Combine it with uninspired writing that they have shown, along with standard cover shooter gameplay. This isnt doing much beyond looking really good. All the supernatural stuff could be good though, havent seen a lot of that.

Speak for yourself. The story and characters look VERY interesting to me. The game world is oozing atmosphere, and Ru Weerasuriya spent years developing the lore and history of the world. I'm expecting a great story experience. I actually get big Eternal Darkness vibes in that sense, and that's one of my favorite stories in a game.

I just don't understand this. How are the characters not interesting? What do they need to do to be "interesting"? Is Nathan Drake interesting? I don't know what that means in this context. It's a never before seen setting in a game. Galahad, Percival, Lafayette and Igraine all look badass with great voice acting. The Lycan creatures show intelligence and emotion. What more do you want?

They want it on Xbox.

Here we go with the "uninspired" bit. Please explain to the uninformed what "inspired" writing is.

The voice acting is 100% on point, The music is great, the graphics are incredible, and the the gunplay looks pretty tense and punchy, but i'm worried about some of the exploration. I feel asleep watching some the exploration bits as it didn't seem very intresting. It could be simply because the environment isn't really that interesting in this part of the game. I hope the stealth is a little more engaging as well. That said, as market shilling as it sounds, it really does nail a cinematic look, but not for the obvious amount of cutsceneces but actually for the time you spend in control of gallahad.

All the details that world build anachronisms are probably the most unique thing about the game. Shoulder mounted tessla-inspired walkies, blackwater supernatural liquid, ball-bearing electromagnetic disrupters. It's really, really interesting. I hope it all comes togther and the balance is struck well enough.

Also, some direct feed would do wonders i don't know what is taking sony so long because I gotta believe RAD would get that out there if they could.

If I remember correctly, Galahad talks about how they had found rebels wearing either cop or guard/soldier uniforms in Whitechapel. They had obviously stolen the uniforms and perhaps using them to carry out attacks. It seems like they are trying to assassinate the "Hastings" guy (no idea who he is) on the air ship

I'm hoping for a little bit of exploration in some of the city environments with NPC's milling about it.

As for the direct feed, their marketing has been abysmal for the game. I have no clue what they are thinking.

I disagree. Also, one should distinguish between what they consider "better" with regard to either aesthetic, or by my technical description.

Technically, and aesthetically, The Order looks great, but Metro at 4K would look more impressive than The Order at 900p in pretty much every aspect.
