360 Rumor

If they're going to have removable hard drives, like say 20GB, how much could they cost? $30-$40.

If so, why bother with the memory cards?
I'm betting the 20GB HD is bundled now, with 40-80GB HDs sold seperately. Insiders are pointing to a single 360 SKU hardware now... so my guesses would be.

Xbox 360~ $299.99 (includes 20GB HD)
40GB HD~ $99.99
80GB HD~ $149.99
64MB memory card~ $29.99

Are they going to convince PC game makers to make all their games compatible with the x360 controller, or are they going to release a x360 KB&M?

Perhaps Longhorn will make loading and playing games easier, and perhaps Longhorn (be it a 'lite' version or whatever) is included in one of these X360 deals.

I'm watching with great interest anyhoo.

This would be amazingly sweet. I don't usually play PC games (played, like 2 all of last year), but if the 360 could play them, I'd definitely get more.

This is the other problem. Keyboard and mouse is a must. So we need at least a 100gig
HD add-on, Keyboard/mouse combo and what else? Also wasn't it stated that you could not save your games on the removable HD you have to use the memory cards? I remember some people balking at that. Last but not least how would the online component be handled in a PC game for 360 if the protocol is supposed to be through Xbox Live? Wouldn't they have to make an open network?

Don't get me wrong that would be fugging awsome if 360 could play PC games too (no need for downgraded console ports) but all of the requirements involved in making this practical is almost impossible. I would be super impressed if proved wrong though.

so this one has been given to me as a rumor by a friend who's been right about everything he's told me, he didn't want to give me a 100%, but he told me he's been hearing about it a good amount lately.

anyways, word on the street is that the 360 will also play PC games. that it would be one of the suprises MS had in store for E3.

anyways, not endorsing this one what so ever, but just thought i'd give you the heads up on what i heard.

anyways, this would be a pretty big deal i'd imagine.

Microsoft did indeed license a unique software that allows users to play PC games without installing them. This software was created by the inventor of the DISCover PC game system. However, when the software was acquired, its creator was told by MS reps that it would be used in future PCs.

When he asked about the Xbox, the rep from Microsoft's PC division told him "fuck the Xbox." Apparently there are some in MS who resent the Xbox, either that, or the rep was blowing smoke up his ass.

There you have it. I don't know if this helps, but its a least another piece in the puzzle.
