37 Minute Direct Feed Cyberpunk 2077 footage from Switch 2

It looks extremely impressive. Far better what I would expect from such a tiny, low power-console and definitely far better than I would have thought possible from Nintendo.

At the very least, this is a good showcase for the system hardware and what it can pull off. There wont be any games that look as good as far as graphics and density of the environments. Its a good show piece and we likely won't ever get anything else on that level on Switch 2. Unless of course RDR2 comes out for Switch 2. I think that game still looks better than Cyberpunk.

As impressive as this is there's still leeway for more impossible ports with mesh shaders and RTGI. I'm sure we'll see throughout its life things we never expected.

Low traffic density, physics look turned off. People do the 'turn and drop' animation when shot every single time. Notice they don't use a shotgun in this video? Canned animations for swordplay and when thrown from overhead. The screen becomes very blurry during action scenes. Can't really say that I am impressed by what is on display here, the lack of RAM really is apparent. I'm currently installing this on the Steam Deck. I'll be back with my comparison later.

Edit: I'm back with my comparison. The SD defaults at a smattering of medium and high settings, graphically without a scaling solution like FSR by default and the crowd density set at low. I played with that setting and got 30FPS in traffic with it looking just like the video. So I jumped out the car and found some criminals to shoot. I am at the Delemain missions on my save. I found my quarry at a local convenience store and armed with a shotgun began taking them out. Physics were automatically in play, so bodies went flying with the appropriate gore like arms flying off when they were administered justice. On their way to the shadow realm, each 'administration' looked different, no 'turn and fall dead' like that Switch 2 video. I did see drops to 24FPS though briefly during the action, so I did what any one would do; I changed the graphical settings a bit, raising the crowd density to medium and turning on FSR. Reloaded the save, went back to the convenience store and sent those same criminals back to the shadow realm. This time though, there were no frame drops and new set 'shadow realm' induction animations, thanks to physics. In fact, I got 1 FPS more with FSR. I have to say, those that are saying that the Switch 2 video looks better than the SD are mistaken. The better processing power and more RAM of the SD allows it to just do more in general. I don't mean to burst any bubbles here, but when people make these claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 version is the superior version compared to the SD…..no folks, it isn't even comparable except in still screens. While it is nice that the game is available on the Switch 2 and a fine job at coding by CDPR, I'll stick with the SD version.

Getting tempted to buy this at launch, but I have a few other things to play first and don't want to immediately start a backlog on day 1.

Going in I didn't think the Switch 2 would be as capable as it appears to be so I'm pretty impressed for now. Hopefully it'll be able to manage good quality ports for however long Nintendo plans this generation to last.

Nintendo partnering with Nvidia was the best move they could have made. Sony and Microsoft being stuck with AMD who are generations behind Nvidia with AI upscaling don't get anywhere close to the value.

With that said, DLSS will make the Switch 2 great in handheld. Docked it will still be third class with basically everything technically demanding third party being 30fps due to the poor CPU.

This is wild for being on a handheld console. Is it really just due to DLSS?

Looks too good to be true.
Are they hacking?

Member when Nvidia could fix/improve games that were using DX11? Now DX12 is in Microsoft's hands and it's almost abandonware and nvidia cannot improve it like they used to.

Now imagine their proprietary API that is made to the metal exclusively for their own architecture

Hacking is the right word

Ampere is unchained from PC bloat

Some clips from the CDPR website

And here in a combined 37 minute video

Looking really good and performance seems good too!

Looks like DLSS is NSW2 cheat code.

Looks good for a portable console. Can PS4 pull of the same feat?

The resolution is low and the framerate is a really unsteady 30.... Watching it on an oled, it makes it look very stuttery. It's easy to tell when the framedrops. Maybe the lcd screen will help smooth it out. There's still some aliasing but DLSS helps it look better. It doesn't have the fsr/xess fizzle that the other pc handhelds have to deal with. Unfortunately, this version of DLSS cannot deal with the SSR artifacts that cyberpunk is well known for. It also still has the taa ghosting as well and I guess DLSS is not getting a high enough input resolution to work with. Overall it looks super soft. Reduced traffic density, reduced texture resolution, reduced lighting quality, etc. The cuts are very very visible. I still think it's a much better achievement that TW3 on switch 1 and this certainly performs better ootb than that and it's much more palatable.

I can't wait for DF to breakdown their settings comparisons on this one. As it stands though, this switch version is very far away from the likes of the Ally X which can run cyberpunk at well over 60fps. Even the Rog Ally can run it at 60fps. Then again, the Switch Cpu is worse than the steam deck cpu as per that asian leaker so the low fps is not surprising.

It is pretty amazing that a game that launched in a state that mid-range CPUs were struggling to maintain framerate at 30fps with dips into the single digits has been optimized enough to run at a relatively smooth 30fps while looking pretty on a device that fits in your pocket.

P.S. Fuck Nintendo and Nvidia.

From
Lol… The Switch 2 is not going to be capable to run Cyberpunk 2077…

LOL, But it looks worse than the PS4 version, Looks like a PS3 Title… LOL

Cyberpunk is trash

You knew this was coming. Some on here are just so prdictable. I am hoping they never ever change.

The only redeeming quality of this game is/was the graphics and use of RT. The game itself is trash.
The overwhelming majority of people who actually played the game post version 2.0 think the game is not just good, but outstanding. So if you wanna make a blanket statement that goes against this reality, at least say "in my opinion" or some such. I mean sure, we'll all eye roll at you but at least you won't sound like a complete moron who doesn't know what he's talking about.

More docked 30fps shit show. -_-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Steam Deck version looks a generation behind in comparison to Switch 2 version.

Steam Deck version is the same PC version that can even use path tracing and is not limited to 30fps shit show. The ignorance...

I dunno, its better than the base ps4 version in terms of traffic density, pop-in, texture resolution but in terms of actual visuals, it's pretty much similar. It's definitely got a lower input resolution than the ps4 based on the video posted above. However, the switch has the DLSS advantage. As it stands, based on the video above which appears to be docked footage, it's not even the best way to play Cyberpunk on handheld talk less of on a TV or monitor. Rog Ally and X are far ahead. Both can run the game at over 60fps. Any pc handheld with the z1 extreme chip is just far ahead.

Still never amounted to what they originally promised. The world while beautiful, is just window dressing. The AI is brain dead, the RPG elements are surface level and there really isn't any nuance or build, you can just steamroll through the game without any consequence.

Glorified choose your own adventure. I really don't care about what people rate it, "overwhelming positive" means jack shit when you have stuff like Bongo Cat getting the same ratings on Steam.

I have owned this on my Xbox Series X since launch and haven't gotten very far into the game. This footage looks very good and I'd rather just play this port for the portability. The 30fps doesn't bother me here, it looks smooth. Maybe the 40fps performance mode is worth the trade off.

Steam Deck 'version' is just the regular PC version and hasn't had the benefit of a dedicated team working on an optimised release, for a year or more.
That's why people buy hundreds of millions of consoles and well a couple of million pocket PCs.

Looks pretty good. Looks like the Switch 2 has Nvidia's DLSS secret sauce. The Switch 2's power looks somewhere between a PS4 Pro and Series S.
Huh, the series S in it's performance mode runs cyberpunk between 50-60fps at similar input resolutions that what we see in the switch 2 docked video above? It's delivering twice the performance as the switch 2.... The switch video above is a very unstable 30fps. It's nowhere near the series s at all.

Who knows how Switch 2 would run Cyberpunk with uncapped frame rate?
