37 Minute Direct Feed Cyberpunk 2077 footage from Switch 2

More docked 30fps shit show. -_-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Steam Deck version is the same PC version that can even use path tracing and is not limited to 30fps shit show. The ignorance...

Who knows how Switch 2 would run Cyberpunk with uncapped frame rate?
Not well seeing as the 40fps modes struggles to hit 40fps and they drop the resolution much lower than the quality mode. Uncapped, the series S also hits higher than 60fps in many parts of the base game too. The switch 2 can't touch the series s. Even the ps4 pro gpu is seriously questionable. It has better storage and cpu probably than the ps4 pro though so there is that...

As impressive as this is there's still leeway for more impossible ports with mesh shaders and RTGI. I'm sure we'll see throughout its life things we never expected.
These are launch titles. Nintendo's paving the way with maxing out 120fps games or 4K/60. But haters still gonna hate. They've got NDS; if Nintendo cured cancer, they'd start talking up the benefits of cancer.

I never played it on the Steam Deck so my only reference point is path tracing on PC. With that biased perspective, things like racing around on the bike looks rough.

PSSR is the same thing.... just not from nvidia

What separates DLSS is its ability to hold up at sub 1080 input resolution. Which is exactly what Nintendo needs from it. For all we know this variant of DLSS(NintenDLSS) is specifically tailored for doing just that. There is a patent stating it.

So there is no difference in principle.
It's just the results that are different and of course they are because it's done by a different company.
To my eye, when I am playing dlss on pc and pssr game on ps5 (good one like stellar blade), it looks just like dlss.

normal DLSS doesn't look great at such low resolutions.
so Nintendo's variant is clearly specifically tailored to these resolutions.

I wonder if Nvidia will be able to release whatever special low res preset of DLSS they cooked up here on PC too.
although the transformer model already does a pretty good job in some games.
the biggest issue on PC now with DLSS is that it can't really do anything against the degradation of raytracing quality. the lower internal resolution will just naturally mean less rays and worse denoising.

We can turn it on there. 🤷‍♂️

Can we in the SW2?
So here is the Steam Deck running path tracing at 30 FPS:

It uses a PT mod to save performance and only requires dropping down to a 266p base resolution, or 1/20th of 1080p. And then because that isn't enough to get 30 FPS, using frame gen to provide the illusion of playable frame rates. I think I even saw some objects in between the smudges of pixels.

Edit: Ah, I see Buggy Loop already posted above.

Man people's hate boner against anything Nintendo is so fucking weird.

Do these people think if they hate Nintendo enough they might get their games come on other platform or something?

The mod drops the quality of PT?

PATENT SUPER DLSS

I have a Switch 2 preordered, but I can't imagine anyone buying it to play something like Cyberpunk on it. (I like the game though)

Im buying the switch 2 to play nintendo games as always. MK world, donkey kong and metroid this year and hopefully some surprises at the end of the year. I might buy some smaller games on it that fits the system, games like hades for example. I'll play all 3rd party on my PC

Exactly this, even though I don't play on PC anymore, but switched to console only (ps5) a bunch of years back due to lack of time.

Nintendo consoles = nintendo games and extra's.

It has been like this for me since the gamecube (and back then, I had the triple set up of Playstation, Nintendo and a gaming PC).

I couldn't care less how something like Cyberpunk runs on it.

But its still a good indication of what the system is capable of. Its just nice to see something like this on a nintendo console

True, but to be honest I always felt that with nintendo games the raw power of a console didn't really matter that much to me. Not saying the switch didn't need an update, but in general I don't care so much for raw power in a nintendo console, as long as I can play their latest games. Usually they look goodand run well because of the art style they use and gameplay is king here. Says a lot about them and the quality of the software they provide, imo.

It is pretty amazing that a game that launched in a state that mid-range CPUs were struggling to maintain framerate at 30fps with dips into the single digits has been optimized enough to run at a relatively smooth 30fps while looking pretty on a device that fits in your pocket.

P.S. Fuck Nintendo and Nvidia.

You must have really large pockets :messenger_grinning:

It's the same thing as dlss2.
It's trained on higher res and upscales from lower res.
What's so different about it? Dlss3 introduced framegen nobody cares about.
and a Ferrari is the same as a Trabbi because it also uses 4 wheels.

On a tiny screen without RT & PT, the game is a nothing Burger.

It's like watching a Christopher Nolan IMAX presentation...on your phone.
A fucking men lol I saw someone on YouTube upload the footage from Japan that was reportedly direct footage but fail to point out that that footage is from docked mode and not handheld. People try to make it seem like there's almost no difference between the PlayStation 5/Series X and the switch 2 version because of DLSS. I don't even have to mention performance.

Anyone analyzing the footage can tell that there's less crowd density, less draw distance etc. Yes the switch 2 version looks great......for a handheld but that is all it is. I just don't get to comparisons.
