3DS Customization Thread | For the Love of Nintendo...

So the Zelda plate is confirmed for a EU release? (Not the MM one)

They have it available to order on Nin Nin Game, but its really expensive. I dunno weather to go for it or bide my time.

Also from what I heard the Zelda plates are limited, but will be reprinted. Monster Hunter plates are a one time deal...

Edit: LIST and URL together do not work with dark. Now all is good. Mobile pops up a picture in a new tab, but still works.

I can't go for this much... n°57 and n°58 are already 24€ each.

I would rather customize my 3DS with Nintendo Collectible Badge Centre :p

I know it has nothing to do with the topic but does GAF more a US or UK forum? centre/center favourite/favorite and some others I was already mixing, I don't know which one to choose :p

More US members (haven't you been here for ages?). I write British English because i'm British. I think most non-british tend to write US English spelling, maybe you could alternate? :)

Ok, I got it now. The banner uses a black color that is the exact same as the mobile dark theme background. Desktop regular and dark work as well as mobile regular.
I will PM kubus to see if he can use a gray color.

That's cool

Your easiest solution is to just shove a white outline around the letters, easy to do on Photoshop with the stroke layer effect.
 
Good thread Idea! Ill be sure to subscribe! This is great but its also a painful reminder of no standard New 3DS in NA. Just do it already, Nintendo!

Its not gonna happen. Give it up. The newest interview with NOA kinda sealed the fate of the console in America. Its not happening.

Best bet for you guys is a region free option through homebrew, which hopefully will arrive as soon as gateway get their asses into action.

I wish we had face plates on the XLs.

Though I guess my Majora's Mask with Retro Zelda theme will do.

But I really would have loved swappable plates.

Yep! Region swapping is the ideal goal - get an EU or JP N3DS, install US firmware on it...boom! Now a permanent american region console.

Of course, that's gonna take some doing. Won't have it happen until the N3DS exploit is in the wild and then some nifty coders can do their work
 
Currently in the midst of awaiting my Zelda (no. 58) and Kirby (no. 56) plates to arrive into Play-Asia's stock so they can ship. I preordered the day they went up and the wait is killing me. To make matters worse... This is the start of the Chinese New Year celebrations which go on until the 22nd... *cries rivers* I just want my faceplates!!
 
Btw, the Monster Hunter thme.... It's not showing on the theme shop, so... Is it only for those who download the game? US customer here, btw...
 
The colored buttons. The White n3DS. The swappable faceplates. The two sticks. It's all I've ever wanted from a Nintendo handheld. But I live in America. Fuck you NOA. I really dig a lot of these. Maybe I'll just get one from another region. Bleh.
 
are these cover plates limited edition? eg one production run and thats it? I want the boo one but the current prices are too high so I was waiting for more stock to come in. But if there won't be any more stock I'll have to grab one.

Seems like it depends. I've seen tons of the original line-up get replenished at stores around me, but I've never seen that MonHan one in the wild once. The Kyari ones seem to get regular restocks too. The new Majora's mask one is literally sold out everywhere I've been and the other Zelda themed one is already sold through on pre-orders. Whether or not they get a refresh seems to be up in the air right now.

Tempted to buy the Pokemon and Monster Hunter (white) faceplates but I don't want to start collecting these. I know I'll hardly ever swap them out and they'll just sit in a drawer :\

But they look so nice...
 
Imported the blue gingham plate from Amazon JP. Really happy with it.

Guess I should buy the matching theme as well. The music is pretty nice, which is probably the big negative about many of these themes. Would be cool is buying a theme unlocked the track choice but you could mix and match them.

Import it. If you wait and it ends up skipping EU it'll be sold out on all the import sites and it'll be too late.

I put a preorder in at Play-Asia in case I miss it at cheaper retailers or EU retailers.

If I find it cheaper or in EU I'll cancel the Play-Asia preorder!
