3DS Streetpass Experiences

Bullza2o said:
I finally got my first tag at Costco today; man I was excited when I saw the green light at home. It was a girl named Hailee who also got tagged in Nintendogs. Streetpass is a cool feature. I'm bringing my 3DS to my univeristy hoping to get even more tags.

Btw guys, isn't something suppose to happen in Find Mii and the Puzzle Collection game in Mii Plaza when you get a tag? For some reason I don't have a new puzzle piece, and no hero in Find Mii (unless I hire one for 2 coins).
From the 3DS Launch thread:
2. When new Miis appear in the Mii Plaza via StreetPass, exiting the Mii Plaza or going to the entrance to retrieve more new Miis before utilizing them in StreetPass Puzzle or StreetPass Quest forfeits their help. New StreetPass arrivals are limited to 10 people at a time. In Japan, the Mii Plaza was not explained in the manual itself, but briefly outlined in an additional leaflet.

The Bemidji area is not a good place for Streetpass. I even went to see a high school production of A Midsummer's Night Dream (very good) and I got diddly.

Just a quick Q: does StreetPass work if a DS game is in sleep mode?

I'm almost tempted to fly to America for E3.

Would that be insanity personified?

EDIT: Just checked, a return flight from Brisbane to L.A. would be just on $1800, which is 78 extra hours of work, which is 10 extra full days of work. Hmm.

Got Six at Disneyland today. I brung it with me to take 3-D pictures of the park. BTW, does anyone know a good program or site to show 3-D pictures on? I mean tranferring them into the red/blus glasses style.

I got another hit today at a casting studio in LA. Really wasn't expecting one. I gotta admit that I'm really enjoying the whole StreetPass experience.

Taking the 3DS around and being rewarded with coins regardless of meeting someone is pretty genius. I'm not as into unlocking the puzzles, but being able to use them in a game, even a simple one, is a lot of fun and very addictive. I actually enjoy opening up the 3DS at the end of the day (since I'm not even playing it when I'm out) and seeing if I got any hits, which is really an apropos word.

And I'm still curious what Gaffers are using as their greetings. I changed mine to "Tag. You're it."

Is the StreetPass restricted to regional codes? I mean, is there really any sense in taking my US 3DS out around in Australia if I'm not going to get a hit?

I was able to street pass with Japanese 3DS users (I'm a NA 3DS). I got Ono-san's Mii and street pass battled with him in SSFIV 3D.

Upload them to www.3dporch.com. They'll transfer them into all sorts of formats.

Yeah I checked my Mii plaza so I didn't get to use any of the 14 I collected yesterday (sad ;-;)

my GF got her 3ds + nintendogs that i bought her from amazon.jp too.

So I recently drove all the way to Atlanta, GA and went downtown to several events for about 8 hours. Busy, crowded places that made my skin crawl. Now, I literally only ran into 2 others that had Streetpass. I was terrible disappointed.

I have a total of 3 Mii guys on my system. I am disappoint so much.

I'm on the last boss for Find Mii finally.

Thanks to some work guys who are already level 7.

I have about 10 or 11 Mii's but over 50+ passes.
how do you get anyone over level 2 ?

interesting i got the last hit like 2 hours ago

i was at home at that time so that means it was someon passing the street in front of my apartment

Spent the weekend in London walking around with my friend (then went to a rave and crawled back home Sunday morning, but that's another story). Anyway I was very satisfied with my haul - 14 Miis captured, and even managed to finish my first puzzle picture. What was weird, though, was that my friend (who I spent most of the day walking around with) only caught half as many Miis on his Streetpass as I did, and all of mine were captured from the moment we met up so it's not like I got a headstart or anything.

I wonder what happened?

Maybe you walk slower than he does or he was always just out of range?

I've been leaving my 3ds in my backpack whenever I go to class and what not, and I've only gotten 1 street pass despite attending an extremely large university... and i'm pretty sure it was from a demo station at a gamestop.... Living in the midwest sucks.

well my wife and i just walked through times square and the nintendo world store and got only one hit . . . hahah

i think we just walk too fast

Went to the Cherry Blossom festival in Philly today. Got about 20 hits! Most people didn't have any new puzzle pieces for me.. :( (but I did get to start the mario puzzle!) And no white shirts, so I am stuck on the darkness level of Find Mii.

I also got 4 Street Fighter tags!

Very successful streetpassing day!

Possibly, but it wouldn't have been a significant enough reduction in walk speed, would it? I dunno how long it takes for a 3DS to detect another 3DS and pass info along.

I work in retail in a shop that sells the 3DS so I'm doing pretty well on tags so far. I have 20 tags and 17 unique Mii's in my plaza and I'm about halfway through the Find Mii dungeon. My Mii is currently rocking the Pikmin hat and looks ridiculously funny.

My boss also has the 3DS so we've tagged several times and his Mii is already level 4 on my system. Definitely helps for taking out the tougher ghosts in the Grotto!

I think its possible that the other 3ds's connected with yours first so most of the time spent sending date while two 3ds's were in range was between you and the other 3ds while your friend was left with the scraps so to speak. I think something like this is possible because I've had a similar experience.

Just wait until you guys start coordinating what color shirts your Miis are wearing

Already done :lol

I was seeing a buddy of mine this weekend and I specifically asked him to put a yellow shirt on his Mii.

Wow, got two people at a shopping mall today and one randomly late tonight after work when a local interstate rugby match was being held and thousands of people were walking about on my way to my car...

... to find a parking ticket for $100.

I got a Streetpass hit yesterday when I went to Walmart to pick up some stuff.

Also, two of my cousins got 3DS' and we had a family dinner on Friday so I was able to Streetpass with them.

Apparently you are able to Streetpass with the same system multiple times within a given time. In the span of a few hours, I streetpassed with one of them twice.

Am currently traveling in Hong Kong, and got around 10 Street Passes today and yesterday shopping around.

Busier city definitely helps. Having to walk more also fulfilled my Play Coin limit super quickly. Lazy Americans should walk more and use more public transit.

Yeah, lemme get on that public transportation thing. Oh wait, there isn't a bus in my area? And in rural Pennsylvania we don't have trains or a subway? Well, thanks to Seady I guess I should walk the 25 miles to work so I'm not a lazy American.

GTFO of here with that shit man.

Sure, sounds like a plan. Let's see.... 20 mile hike to work, half the trip without any sidewalks, extraordinarily hot and humid (with no real form of shade) so waiting for that lynx bus that may or may not show could suck....

yeah, ill just be a lazy american and drive, thanks.

you guys could move nearer to your work. i mean, it is an option. you choose to live 20 miles away just as you choose to drive to work.

anyway, got four tags on friday night when i went to the mall. will get at least two tonight when i work at gamestop.

levelling guys up helps power through find me. i'm about two rooms from the end.

also
the Gamestop instore 3DS has a white shirt for the obvious reason
.

I find it a bit rude to presume anything about anyone's situation. There are a lot of variables you haven't a clue about to so non chalantly suggest something like, "you guys could move nearer to your work". So lets just refrain from insulting stereotypes, and keep any suggestions about improving our commute situations to ourselves unless asked.

On topic, I received my first street pass driving past cross roads at downtown disney. It was street fighter pass to boot. I lost every one of the battles unfortunately ...

If I walked to work it would take me 5 hours. But thanks for calling us lazy.

Be right back, gonna roll my motorized wheelchair over to the donut on the floor...

Just move closer, that's always an option. You chose to live 5 walking hours away from work...

Everyone should be mandated to live within one mile of work or take green mass transit, unless given an exemption by the Obama Council of Enlightened Celebrities.
