Just noticed the change on profile, that now shows how many "yeahs" I've given instead of received

702 yeahs. I have so much empathy!

What does being able to link an NNID to the 3DS mean? The NNID is the system the Wii U was already using, right?

Is this a step toward an account system across both platforms? And what benefit does it hold right now for 3DS users?

Questions!

Miiverse seems so useless for me on 3DS since I play on the commute. No connectivity. :(

Miiverse has a spoiler function. There is no freaking reason to disable screenshots besides the publisher's dumbness.
The spoiler function isn't reliable. People might forget to mark a screenshot on Miiverse, or simply link the screens online like we do on GAF, and there's fuck all anybody can do when that happens. Which is why companies like Capcom or Gamefreak disable screenshots.

I think one problem is that gamers don't usually consider some rare Pokemon or rare armor as a spoiler, but the devs might want people to go in without knowing that stuff.

it has an offline mode where you can make posts and it will save them and post them when you connect to the internet again

but yeah for me I rarely post but I lurk around on Miiverse a lot. at least on the Wii U.

Routine post-update eShop maintenance. It'll probably be back to normal later today.

It's not really a "routine" maintenance, it's not indicated as such (and besides, what would be the point of having a routine maintenance BEFORE the update if you're going to have one AFTER it).

And this is one is quite long maintenance, something's definitely wrong. No idea what the hell the Nintendo egineers did this time :p

You can make posts on your smartphone since Miiverse has a mobile site.

I live in the Netherlands, but I imported a US 3DS XL last year (I had an EU 3DS, but Fire Emblem/SMT/VLR delays bummed me out). I've never had trouble using the US eShop or US Club Nintendo. I haven't made a NNID yet.

Is there anything I should look out for? Or can I just continue pretending to be an American without consequences?
How are you adding funds to the US eShop? Canada is typically preferred as you can use non USA credit cards on it.

Regarding Club Nintendo, I'd avoid contacting NOA in any way or possibly buying physical gifts. If they figure out you are outside of the USA they ban you (this won't affect NNID in any way).

Exactly. It's really obvious with games like Monster Hunter, where the biggest monster featured in marketing usually only marks the halfway point of the low level quest line. Anything bigger than that is teased at best.

I don't have a credit card, so I've added funds in the past by buying US eShop codes. And yes, I'm aware I can't get physical gifts, I should have mentioned that. Thanks for the heads-up anyway!

Still makes no sense because plenty of other games with potentially spoilable content do allow screenshots on Miiverse. If we follow the spoiler argument, then you'd be left with very few games allowing screenshots… like OMG there's a golden kart in Mario Kart let's prevent people from posting pics!!!

Alright so hypothetical scenario as I try to wrap my head around NNID. Say I have a Wii U, made the account there, end up linking it with the 3DS, then want to sell or get rid of the Wii U. Will formatting the Wii U delete the account entirely or is there a way to specifically remove association with the Wii U while keeping it on 3DS?

My GF has like 2 friends on her Wii U account but loads of 3DS only owners on her 3DS friend list.

I'm not sure how it will all work once those 3DS users start posting on Miiverse.

Will their posts show up in her feed thing? Or will she have to re-add them somehow (with their NNID whenever they make one?)

At the moment she only sees the 2 friends from Wii U on her feed on the 3DS.

Still trying to update. Keeps giving errors. Seems stuck at roughly 75%

Edit: tries for hours. Soon as I post on GAF if works. Should have posted earlier.

Or assholeness. Looking at you, Square Enix who doesn't allow screenshots of its Wii U VC games. Fuck you!

Except Capcom allows screenshots just fine for all their games that actually have plot (RE: Revelations, all VC games).

Commute = subway. Underground. No connectivity. :(

That's why 3DS Miiverse has a save function for offline mode. Problem solved.

I can reply to that even though I don't have Miiverse yet:

No. DS, DSi and ambassadors GBA games use legacy mode (DS sandbox) which doesn't allow home button interaction.

Plus you can't take screens of a game that doesn't have a community anyway.

Has anyone been able to get into the eshop on either system? I want to make sure my balance has been updated/combined

Shit's down. Patience.

Miiverse is soooooo goood. Great, as if I wanted even more distraction and time wasting >.< My ID is ShivaRpgN if any gaffer is interested!

It's a shame that we have to wait for games to have communities and that not all have them. I hope nintendo gets a move on.

Do Wii U games also have communities for eshop and virtual console games?

Any way to show just English posts? I'm sure all these Japanese chaps have fascinating things to say about Pokemon, but...

I saw you could actually do what you asked. Go to the settings inside miiverse, I forgot wether it was profile settings or miiverse settings. You get the option to select English only or international languages mixed.

Never got a wiiu, so im unfamiliar with nnid/miiverse account. is it universal/multi-region?
Currently I got a jp 3dsll, can I make a us nnid/miiverse account or I must use a jp version in order to link?
