It's usually done to prevent spoilers. Same thing with Monster Hunter for example. Why would Gamefreak disable screenshots? That doesn't make sense.

how do you take in game screenshots?
I'd bet $10 this is on Gamefreak, not Nintendo.Miiverse has a spoiler function. There is no freaking reason to disable screenshots besides the publisher's dumbness.
Holy shit. Really?!There is no system transfer between Wii U systems.
The spoiler function isn't reliable. People might forget to mark a screenshot on Miiverse, or simply link the screens online like we do on GAF, and there's fuck all anybody can do when that happens. What does being able to link an NNID to the 3DS mean? The NNID is the system the Wii U was already using, right?
Is this a step toward an account system across both platforms? And what benefit does it hold right now for 3DS users?
Questions!
Miiverse seems so useless for me on 3DS since I play on the commute. No connectivity.![]()
This is great! Now how do I turn it off?
Routine post-update eShop maintenance. It'll probably be back to normal later today.
it has an offline mode where you can make posts and it will save them and post them when you connect to the internet again
but yeah for me I rarely post but I lurk around on Miiverse a lot. at least on the Wii U.
How are you adding funds to the US eShop? Canada is typically preferred as you can use non USA credit cards on it.I live in the Netherlands, but I imported a US 3DS XL last year (I had an EU 3DS, but Fire Emblem/SMT/VLR delays bummed me out). I've never had trouble using the US eShop or US Club Nintendo. I haven't made a NNID yet.
Is there anything I should look out for? Or can I just continue pretending to be an American without consequences?
alternatively you can access miiverse on your smartphone.Miiverse seems so useless for me on 3DS since I play on the commute. No connectivity.![]()
You can make posts on your smartphone since Miiverse has a mobile site.
Exactly. It's really obvious with games like Monster Hunter, where the biggest monster featured in marketing usually only marks the halfway point of the low level quest line. Anything bigger than that is teased at best.I think one problem is that gamers don't usually consider some rare Pokemon or rare armor as a spoiler, but the devs might want people to go in without knowing that stuff.

Regarding Club Nintendo, I'd avoid contacting NOA in any way or possibly buying physical gifts. If they figure out you are outside of the USA they ban you (this won't affect NNID in any way).
Or use the smartphone as a mobile hotspot for your 3DS if you want to draw or post screenshots.alternatively you can access miiverse on your smartphone.
Thanks! When you want to take a screenshot, press Home button and go to the Miiverse.

Can you take screenshot for DS games?

Commute = subway. Underground. No connectivity.![]()
I can reply to that even though I don't have Miiverse yet:
No. DS, DSi and ambassadors GBA games use legacy mode (DS sandbox) which doesn't allow home button interaction.
Has anyone been able to get into the eshop on either system? I want to make sure my balance has been updated/combined
Any way to show just English posts? I'm sure all these Japanese chaps have fascinating things to say about Pokemon, but...

I was talking about Monster Hunter, obviously.Except Capcom allows screenshots just fine for all their games that actually have plot (RE: Revelations, all VC games).

So can anyone access the eshop?
Do Wii U games also have communities for eshop and virtual console games?

You must only take photos in the designated photo areas!

Yes.
Capcom apparently thinks so. I don't necessarily agree with them either, but it's their call. Are there really spoilers in MH? Is it a spoiler to see that you got that one helmet? That's what I don't understand about the MH example.
