I'm short on Argo, SLP and Django so far. I guess I have my weekend cut out for me.

Nice to see that they agree with me about Kamisnki.

Quoting myself because I read your tragedy of a post, please watch her performance in Rust and Bone to see what she is really capable of.

Haha that you had the energy to reply to such a silly best is delicious.

I've seen Rust And Bone and yes she is very, very good in it.

But she was terrible in TDKR

Life of Pi or Anna stand out in terms of Cinematography - despite how cold I was for the second film. Did Anna get nominated for editing because the ballroom scenes were seamless?
Is there a reason why Cloud Atlas was totally snubbed?
Wasn't received very well and performed poorly.

What other Western Animated movie deserved to be there? I wish they had left one or two slots open for foreign animation.

don't know but i did no research. hard to believe there were no better ones to chose from. it's not like it's limited to american movies. at least it wasn't in the past.

Nah, it's not. They like to nominate token foreign animated movies such as The Triplets of Belleville, The Secret of Kells, Persepolis and The Illusionist. They never have a shot of winning (even when they should) but I appreciate the nominations to bring them to greater prominence. Should really have been one or two this year, the Western animated field is indeed quite weak.

The Pirates! was a brilliant animated film, I hope it wins. If you haven't seen it, see it!

I liked it fine but it's Aardman's worst film yet and doesn't deserve anything.

The Imposter didn't qualify?

What are the foreign animations that should be there? I can't really think off anything that outstanding this year.

Now wait, what is this SLP slayage. Let me watch that movie, if only to gaze at Bradley Cooper's scruffy face.
