I am not sure if you included me in that? I am just interested in hardware and is still curious about the customisations to the PS5 chip with regard to RT, geometry engine and cache management system. I had hoped to get more information regarding the infinity cache today in general but the presentation was very thin - that was disappointing. Still believe the PS5 has a larger than assumed L2 cache (that both addressed the cache-management system and the RT since RT is very memory intensive cache wise).
I am still of the belief that the PS5 has worked hard in those three areas and more information is to come.

Well, MS also has customised hardware. But pretty much.
EDIT: Yes, standard RDNA2 though, with a few bells and whistles.
Sony just swapped out some RDNA2 features and replaced them with their own versions.

I see the error of my ways. I cant wait for next E3, the best Xbox E3 ever and Chris Lee's masterpiece of a game next year....it will truly showcase the ultimate graphics the industry has to show.
Xbox it going to win Japan over in a year and make everyone hate Nintendo and Sony and see how anti-consumer their games are...with the lack of options to pay for skins and paints for your muscle-man armor.
I hear all of Europe has returned their PS5 pre-orders now and are really excited about how much RDNA2 Xbox is.... it's so much RDNA2, SO MUCH!

Microsoft is a software company that takes whatever AMD gave them 1:1, whereas Sony is a hardware company that took RDNA2 and made it better in certain aspects (e.g. superior SSD mechanics), which naturally means they don‘t have full RDNA2. Sony has RDNA2.5. Not sure if serious 🧐

No, Sony have been consistent in saying the PS5 has a custom rdna2 gpu, Lisa Su also tweeted something like 'it's great seeing rdna2 in action' after the UE5 demo.
And yes, Sony have quite a long history of not publicly revealing information about their api feature set.

As you probably know, the architecture of PS5 is a middle ground between RDNA1 and RDNA2, with unique characteristics. Even PlayStation 4 Pro was a sort of hybrid between GCN2 and 4 ". Recall that for RDNA we mean Radeon DNA and it is a GPU architecture coming out in 2020, which should provide a 50% improvement in performance compared to RDNA1.

It has some of the full feature set in parts customised by Microsoft to be 100% RDNA2 in certain parts of the complete range of the architecture.

You just need to separate architecture improvements under the hood (clock-gating, new data paths, infinity cache etc) from new features (RT, Mesh shaders, Sampler feedback, DirectStorage integration, VRS etc).
What MS is saying is that Xbox Series X/S are the only consoles to support all those features.
If you want to be cruel it could be as simple as Sony does not support DirectStorage (duh) since that was mentioned on the AMD slides.
The point is that it does not say anything about architectural improvements at all - that is not what the PR is about. And you can see that from the simple fact that no Xbox as infinity cache for example.
That is why the PR is slightly disingenuous since it is very easy to misinterpret.

I'm taking it there just wasn't room for it in the XSX console design. The transistor count just isn't high enough to figure in 1.5-2b CPU, the GPU and have room for a sizable additional cache.
