LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

Hmmm, I'm still wary, but it certainly looks nice.

I'd like to see someone to The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch someday. . .sort of.

Hm. Looks like the movie will probably be ok, but this ad stinks imo. And I'm not really fond of the style. I don't see what it adds.

God yes.

I'll definitely check this out, but I'm not a Keanu fan. That lessens my hope.

Holy fuck that looks amazing. Jumped past Sin City to be tied with War of the Worlds for 2005's most anticipated.

Wow. That's a pretty unique visual style. I like it. Easily slips into my top five films of 2005, with King Kong, Batman Begins, Sin City and Hitchhiker's

Looks good, but big warning:

DO NOT READ THE iFILM DESCRIPTION IF YOU DON'T WANT THE MOVIE SPOILED!

Geez, haven't read the book but looks to me like that was the equivalent of providing a preview of the
sixth sense
with:

Psychiatrist helps child who sees dead people and later discovers that he himself is dead.

Damn, that's messed up.

Um, nope. Nothing in that description is a secret. If it doesn't make that stuff clear in the first 5 minutes of the movie, it's not the same story as the book. It's also somewhat wrong.

There is a twist, but none of that is it. Actually the trailer gives away more, but it's not very obvious with a completel lack of context.

I was thinking about how a script for Palmer Eldritch would even be written. It would be a pretty daunting task. Moreso than any other PKD book, it's absurdly humorous. IT is also, without doubt, the darkest thing he ever wrote.

Anyway, I'm wonder how they'll do the ending to A Scanner Darkly. The book's ending is pretty weak (like most Dick stories).

Granted I was really fucking high when I saw the trailer, but that seemed terrific. I loved the visuals of Waking Life, absolutely fucking detested the rest of it, so this seems ace.

Um, that's not a spoiler. It's the entire premise of the goddamn movie and present in any 25 word summary. It's not a twist or a surprise ending. It's the whole goddamn movie.

P.S. I hated Waking Life but this looks pretty good!

How does Keanu Reeves keep getting work??

Yeah, I know why, but he just sucks so fucking much

Who cares, Winona Ryder is in it. Too bad her character is a bit of a prude :(

What what WHAT? a movie like Waking Life? Based on a Philip K. Dick novel?

(puts on dvd pre-order list)

I was not stoned, but I had an headache and felt dizzy like mad, and incredibly enough, not because of the philosophical content but because of the damn visual style. :lol

I love the visual style of the film.

While alot of you may disagree, I don't think that Keanu is a bad actor...

Not a bad cast really...

I'm more interested in the cinematography here... worth seeing just for it (as was Hulk... actually).

Looks good, but I couldn't help but laugh at the line "Two hemispheres of my brain... are competing?"

I busted up at that part too..the look on Keanu's face was priceless.

Yeah stupid iFILM cunts. :(

How many times do we have to say, "That is not a spoiler. That is the plot of the movie. You will learn this within the first five minutes." Because I am more than willing to say it that many times until you people understand.

P.S. it's not a spoiler
P.P.S.
this tag is unnecessary

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
Uhm no....the style totally wrecks the movie for me as it is now. I would have loved to seen it as a normal looking flick, maybe with some filters on top.

Wow, looks MUCH better than that shitfest Waking Life. I might actually go watch this thing. I still don't understand Linklater's obsession with rotoscoping, or the point of doing that to his movies.

Haha, thank goodness. I was reading that and thought, "...shit."

So, is this a book I should read?

Call me a little biased, but HELL YES. At least twice.

On the trailer:
Effects look great--casting is spot on (particularly Robery Downey as Barris and Winona Ryder as Donna), except for Keanu, but maybe his style of non-acting will be beneficial here. Some things show promise:
The Donna transformation, Arctor's scramble suit
, the feeling of paranoia/creepiness already seems to be there. What needs to shine is the dialogue. It is the most important aspect of the novel the movie needs to get right. That and an overwhelming sense of melancholy.

I have full confidence in Linklater. I still need to see Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, but I've seen Waking Life and it's one of my favourite surreal movies...not just for the trippy visuals, but for the strength of the dialogue and the multitude of ideas strewn throughout.
