Intel i7 4770k @ 4.2ghz
8gb ddr3 @1333mhz
ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO
Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 OC Boost
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 256gb @550 MB/s
Super Flower Leadex 80Plus Gold 650watt

Parts are between 4 and 6 years old, but it still runs more or less everything between High and Ultra @1080p.
I'm gonna target 1440p for for my next gen setup (2021/2022) and will dump everything except the power supply and case (if they are compatible)..
Kinda glad I didn't invest in a bigger SSD or more RAM back then. I would have to get new stuff either way and it would have been wasted instead of "future proof".

i7 9700, 3 ssds, 32 gb of ram(was running 16gb but went ahead and installed more), and I upgraded to a 2080ti awhile back after using a 2060 super for awhile.

But to me man....the most important thing was the monitor.

I went out and bought an expensive ass 4k/60hz monitor chasing 4K....recently got a 1440p....the asus pg279qz and my god lol...pqrdon my french but fuck 4k...1440p at a high refresh rate with everything pumped>>>>>>

I use my 4k monitor for work now, but wouldnt even consider playing a game on it compared to the 1440p high refresh rate with g sync on....

I'm gonna have to upgrade the CPU, as it's already having trouble in some games. But I'm waiting for Zen 3. I'm also going to add another 8GB of RAM.

I plan on keeping the rest during the cross-gen phase, at least.

i've yet to hit a wall with any game and only had to keep some settings down for bad ports, i don't think i'll be upgrading any time soon as i'm very comfortable staying at 1080p and lowering some unnecessary settings to get a locked 60fps

I'm not sure if I want to do anymore PC upgrade. The last upgrade I did was buying a used GTX1060, and I feel its adequate enough to run games that I have on Steam. I spent so much time playing on my PS4 I barely feel the need to do massive upgrade, and may end up just saving up for PS5.
