this is probably bull shit though.

The game sold like 59 000 copies in one week. And Ace Combat IV sold 1.4 million, no way is the price going down so low so early.

Holy crap! Is this from Black Friday or yesterday's ads???

Well it ain't in yesterday's ads

You know, the game is basically free after the 110% pricematch difference

Ah..it's the ad for next week. I'm buying multiple copies of this sucker and giving them out for Christmas gifts if I can pricematch

Which stores do 110% pricematch? Best Buy? Target? Circuit City?

Either way, I know that if I can pull this off, I'm getting every copy of AC5 I can and trade them in towards a new Nintendo DS. Mind you, AC5's tradein value is probably what, $25 or so?

BB and CC

Good idea, I shall pick up additional copies and trade them in for a NDS :P

BTW, the game comes to 50 cents after the pricematch :lol

Shit, is this for black friday only? If Best Buy or Circuit City chose to not honor a price match i think this would be the time.

Also: what is the trade in value for AC5 at all of the game stores?

Posters that work at Best Buy or Ciruit City really need to find out if their stores will pricematch Black Friday sales. Do it for your GAF brothers!

speaking of Sears, i went last night and they ahd FFXI w/ the HDD clearanced down for $35. It might be a YMMV situation though.
I was there last night as well, doing some early Xmas shopping. I didn't bother checking out the gaming section though.

Does EB still have the trade in 5 PS2 games for $150 deal? I need to know how many of these suckers i'm going to have to get. :D

It has to be for Ace Combat 04. But if you had the advertisement in your hands and you showed it to them, I don't think they'd have such an easy time turning you down.

It is for Ace Combat 4, totally a misprint. Still ain't stopping me from going to Best Buy or Circuit City and price matching :)

All I know is that I'm getting up awful damn early on Saturday morning.

Likewise, i'm gonna pick up a Saturday paper, then hit the closest BB and CC, and pray they honor this price match.

I wouldn't even bother... I'd be surprised if anyone can get away w/ this.

I think you are thinking about the one where you trade in an old PS2 and 5 games for $150 credit. That offer is over alreadly.

Eh, that sucks, how much store credit do brand new games get? Like $35?

AC5 trades in for $19 at Wherehouse.com, so that'd probably be the value at EB and GameStop as well.

Hell, you could even jettison them off for $25 a piece on ebay with "Buy it now" and feel the love.

Wherehouse.com = $19
Tradestop.com = $15

Soooo...Yeah.

It's all in the thrill of the chase, my good man.

I don't see how they could possibly get away with NOT honoring this. They obviously meant Ace Combat 4, but THEY PRINTED THE AC5 BOXART. They HAVE to honor that, because that is the deal they advertised. It would be one thing if they just made a typo on the name or something, but there is no way I can see them getting out of this without basically saying "fuck you" to the customer.

I think most paper ads have a dislcaimer somewhere that indemnifies them from errors in the ad itself, typos, misprints, etc.

They do, and I've seen some stores go as far to put a notice on the entrance to the store stating that there's a misprint. A slightly sarcastic "Good luck getting it honored" to all of those who are going to try, though. I'd suggest saving everyone in line behind you a headache and not put up a fight if they say no and/or laugh at the very notion.

Sears is very good at honoring mistakenly-signed items. Unless they have a sign at the register or at the door as someone already mentioned, I would be surprised if they didn't honor this. It's part of their policy so ask for a manager if the cashier acts confused or says no.

Oh shit. I can get MGS3 and KOTOR 2 with these (by going to four stores and trading them in at several EBs)!

If the 110% pricematching works, it's 49 cents per store, I believe. 53 cents or thereabouts with tax. :lol

So when does the paper with the ad actually end up in our hands? If the deal is for this coming Saturday, then the paper would probably be... Friday's, no?

I think I'll be heading out to CC really early that day. I'd try best buy, but knowing my luck, they'd give me all types of crazyrunaround, and finally end up calling CC, and they'd be out of stock.

50 cents > 5 bucks...but I like my chances with the 5 bucks games better. After heading out to CC though, I'll stop by best buy and try to pricematch. :p

even if ace combat doesn't pan out, i'd gladly pay $5 each for armed and dangerous and tekken tag.
