So, I'm playing my nightly three games and hosting a supply ticket challenge lobby and lo n' behold guess what emergency mission pops? Stonehenge Black Ring! FML I'm hosting a four player lobby.... Hopefully next patch we can adjust player count without closing the room. MVP'ed a subsequent B rank; we somehow smashed Butterfly Master during round one and took out a few turrets to at least get the emblem and nickname. Not sure if it was the four of us spamming missiles at BM or a well-upgraded TLS Morgan that decimated her so quick.

So...have you guys gotten the Hard Tokyo on S rank yet ? I managed to get it in a team of 6 with about 12 seconds to spare. I wonder what kind of team compsotion you would need for a 4 player S rank

I've S ranked Hard mode Tokyo in a few six and eight player lobbies as well. If nobody kill steals, I could see a four player lobby S rank with milliseconds to spare. Would probably require absolutely max level aircraft and weapons: dedicated bunker-buster attacker, one or two 4agm multiroles, and an ace-at-the-stick 6aam fighter. If the cpu wingmen go beast mode, even better.

The 19th Task Force "ACES" emblem has been added to the limited time drops.
The F-2A -Nagase- and Typhoon Event Skin #2 are this month's drops.
The F-2A -Nagase- has had it's paintjob slightly modified from it's Assault Horizon form.

The plane in Infinity doesn't have the artwork on the left wing and the Assault Horizon text has been removed from the right wing.

This month's special planes for the special supply ticket store are ADFX-01 Morgan, ADFX-01 Block1 Morgan and Su-24MP -Capricorn-. ADFX-01 Event Skin #1, ADFX-01-1 Event Skin #1 and Su-24MP Event Skin #1 are also available.
Other additions to the special supply ticket store are a set of ten Mappy emblems, three Mappy nicknames (Mappy, Goro, Gosenzo), a Ace Combat 04 nickname (Jean-Louis) and a set of seven Ace Combat 04 Instant Radio Messages.

#1: How do you use the RKTL effectively? Do I rake it across ground targets from the side? Do I aim down at the targets and rain the rockets in a wide cone?

I played about 50 sorties over the last three days, got last three limited emblems but no 19th Task Force emblem. Got 40 tickets, 5 stocked fuel, 10000 credits and F-2A -Nagase- from gold boxes.

I played around with the A-10A using RKTL. To me at least firing the rockets in a downwards angle is the best way of using them. I'd guess that upgrades to RKTL increase range and damage, not the amount of rockets fired per volley.

What control scheme do you guys use?
I use expert controls, reversed vertical axis on left stick, standard throttle (R1 L1) and yaw (R2 L2) and Type C Radar Map (Square, pressure sensitive) & Switch Weapons (Select).

Latest tourney doesn't seem popular. I'm making good progress even just flying a few B rank missions since the start.

SFFS were supposedly buffed a while back so I'm going to find out how much real soon.

I wish I could help you more here but I'm still learning how to use them properly too. Generally, rake them across yellow targets at a slightly higher angle like you said. Concentrate a downward salvo for red targets. I'm starting to hate these rockets compared to AC6's; there's less of them and they overshoot a lot more. I'll have to try them with the Warthog rather than the Gripen though.

I use the same control scheme. Think my camera is inverted too but I never pay attention to how I look around, I just look.

It seems people don't want to fly low cst planes since everyone still playing the game has unlocked some high tier aircraft that they always use. I just join a 8 player room and score badly as everyone uses their fully equipped planes. At least it's easy S-ranks for tournament points. Got to rank 9400 or so after six sorties.

If those callsigns will be purchasable with supply tickets they must be really expensive. I could see Swordsman being purchasable, but I think those others will be tournament rewards.
Someone on Gamefaqs or /aceg/ on 4chan will post after the tournament complaining how they spent $400 or something ridiculous like that to reach top 200.

I am not sure if I can afford to get a New 3DS at launch, but I'm not expecting the thread to go beyond two or three pages anyway.

I really should have gone down the Russian fighter line instead of going for the Typhoon. I need some parts that are after the Typhoon on the tree anyway, so I guess its not all so bad and to get the Morgan and FALKEN I need both PAK-FA and F-22A anyway. The framerate looks bad in the SOLG segments of the trailer, hopefully it isn't terrible when playing.

Not much to say about the X-02 other than that it handles really good (and mine's only at level 3). There's very slight missile lag but nothing compared to the Raptor's. Throwing mod parts onto these late-game fighters is expensive so I'm waiting until level 6-7 before I really break it in. My research path towards the Falken is clear but I'm so broke (~$500k) that it's going to take me a long time to afford the entire path.

The X-02 looks interesting, but I don't like the special weapons available for it.. That video of the 3DS themes is annoying because the guy is scrolling around the menu constantly so you can't hear the music playing in the background.

There's a large set of normal emblems that can be acquired as random drops and there also are limited emblems that have been either as tournament rewards, random drops or on the supply ticket store. Skins have also been available as time limited drops in the past and as tournament rewards and on the supply ticket store.

All of the skins are plane specific and the emblems can be applied to the main wing, vertical tail and the nose.
Some paintjobs that have appeared as skins in previous games have been changed into special planes with different specs. The special planes have been available as limited drops, tournament rewards and for purchase on the supply ticket store.

I never let my tree go that much because I focused on getting my Wardog maxed.
Very top is only at like the 2nd part.

Hmm, those are limited options then. The new parts and planes at the end of the tree have really long research times and even more ridiculous price tags so unless you really want the Falken or Wyvern I'd set them aside for now.

Part slots are everything to me, but Wardog looks quite good by level 8-9. Since you're invested already, keep that as your main fighter and find a good multirole or attacker to supplement it. I'm a huge fan of the Strike Eagle but it does take quite an investment to get good. S/MTD and Berkut are still strong despite their well-deserved nerfs. I've seen Gripens, F-22B's, and even F-2's get stupid high scores as well.

In the mean time, just slowly finish off researching your aircraft parts. Aim for the M/L versions of reload speed, power, and homing for both your standard missiles and specials. Asides from the usual speed/mobility parts, those are your most bang-for-buck options. Ignore the bomber tree, they're super useful in hard missions when flown well, but only whales can afford them.

I'm a huge fan of the Strike Eagle but it does take quite an investment to get good. S/MTD and Berkut are still strong despite their well-deserved nerfs. I've seen Gripens, F-22B's, and even F-2's get stupid high scores as well.

In the mean time, just slowly finish off researching your aircraft parts. Aim for the M/L versions of reload speed, power, and homing for both your standard missiles and specials. Asides from the usual speed/mobility parts, those are your most bang-for-buck options. Ignore the bomber tree, they're super useful in hard missions when flown well, but only whales can afford them.

That's... a lot of Tomcats. Unless you want to take the F-14D to level 15, I'd be content with the A variants that you already have. It's stats aren't noticeably better and the special weapon selection is already covered by the other planes.

There is something of a meta for landing on leader board lucky numbers for the aircraft though. I'm sure there will be a Razgriz F-14D eventually.

Im satisfied with my Wardog I guess, that tournament was ridiculous.
Didn't get almost any sleep the last 2 days because I would be at like 200 then drop hundreds in just a short while.
I was like #1 the first night, held around 30 for a while then it started fluctuating a lot.

As for tourneys I only really go for one every so often and save up stocked fuel until there's one I really want. Managed to just about get Su-37 -13- with no money spent although nowadays I guess it's all about trying to hit those lucky numbers instead.

Valentine's day emblems available as limited drops for three days only! All emblems change missile smoke colour to orange.

I spent 20 stocked today to get Makoto's emblem. It was the last one so now I have the full Idolmaster set. In the process I also got two of the valentine's day emblems.

With how active all Ace Combat threads are, this one just ought be renamed as "Ace Combat Community Thread: Chopper's Memorial Concert," or some such.

Before the weekend was over, I managed to score the hand-drawn and in-uniform Nagase emblems as well as the red Haruka IM emblem. I'm a little bummed I wasn't able to finish off either collection. Of all the old IdolMaster planes, Makoto's Typhoon was the coolest so it would've been nice to have her proper emblem.

Scarface tourney starts in less than 22 hours. It will be hard giving up free mercenary contracts with that B7R challenge but I'm going to try for the emblem. Crossing my fingers that the music is good and that I even get it.

Looks like the inclusion of rental aircraft has pushed the leaderboards up a bit, or more people play lol. No way will I make top 200 on a major fuel burn and I'm not even sure if I should use a merc and plant contract to push my way to a safe top 1000. Think I'm at rank 1500 or so on just supplied fuel. Still no ZOE drop, as if I could afford to use it.

Ridiculous X-02 is ridiculous. 850 cst, boosted stats, 6aam qaam and 4agm capability. Falken sp and Mobius will break 900 cst for sure.

I have a feeling F-22A -Mobius 1- won't be as high as 900cst as that would put way too far over the Su-37 -Yellow 13- which are rival planes. 775-800cst would be about right for it.

The aircraft seem to mostly be the same as the scale model kits that have been released in the past. I was kinda hoping that Namco would add the Draken just for this. That Typhoon will be mine. I just hope it won't be the last one to drop like the emblem. There's going to be a lot of complaining on the Facebook page when they make the english announcement.
