Actors/Actresses who ruined their careers with a single move.

Ben Affleck when he messed around and got engaged to J.Lo. His career went south and hasn't been the same since. His friend Matt Damon career took off.
Hasn't been the same since? He directed and starred in a movie that won the Oscar for Best Picture. He starred in Fincher's highest-grossing movie. He's Batman and will be directing his own solo Batman movie. That's a hell of an idea of a career that never recovered.

In the same vain, Kirk Cameron when going religious in Growing Pains. He would never have been bigger than Leo but even Ashley Johnson is bigger than him now.

He's certainly a big force in faith-based filmmaking, and he doesn't seem at all regretful for going down that path as it lines up with his personal beliefs. Yes, that doesn't magically make any of the films he's done better, but he seems more than content with where his life has taken him.

Pauly Shore... Lost his hair.

Also Forest Whittaker? Am I going mad? Not been in many movies I've seen but he is damn good in them. Also hating because of a lazy eye? Please.

You have no taste. He's a fantastic actor.
Ghost dog, last king of Scotland, The Shield...so good.

Also,breathe.

So care to explain? This is downright inflammatory. I have a lazy-eye too.

If you don't like his acting I get it, but the lazy eye comment I dont.
Unlike most people I know with Lazy eyes, he has the ability to get it fixed as far as I know. It has always annoyed me that he hasn't. As an actor, dude just overacts so damn much. Like holy christ, he ain't good to me. I just dislike him so much. And Ghost Dog?!?! That movie is awful. I really dislike him as an actor, if I see him in something I honestly get upset. The movie with him and Anthony Mackie was my last straw

trash tier post

Lohan has to be it. Emma Stone, Scarlett Johansson, and a few others would have probably had different careers if Lohan didn't emplode. Especially Stone who is similar.

I'd say this could be the San Jones thread, too. His star was rising with the Flash Gordon movie, but his agent decided to demand more pay while the movie was still in production. The result: his lines are completely dubbed in the film and some scenes are done by a double. Ok, Ted tries to steal his semen in Ted 2...

Anne Heche was having front billing next to Harrison Ford and suddenly she kissed Ellen DeGeneres and puff
Actually her time with Ellen probably improved her career. 6 Days, 7 Nights with Ford was after she had gotten together with Ellen. If anything, breaking up with Ellen killed her career.

Though, Hollywood and Ellen weren't what they are now in 2000

Bruce Willis became such an asshole that he managed to piss off even his old friend Stallone. Such a disappointment.

Johnny Lewis killed a cat, his landlord, punched a neighbor and fell to his death.

It was however casted before she kissed Ellen.

Meg Ryan, people.

She was a household name and starred in one classic (When Harry Met Sally), and two huge romantic comedies (Sleepless in Seattle, and You've Got Mail) opposite Tom Hanks.

She was America's Sweetheart, Dennis Quaid's wife, and was a huge star.

Then, she made Proof of Life opposite Russel Crowe. Rumors of an affair with Crowe and a divorce from Quaid may have hurt her box office. Then, she got plastic surgery which visibly changed her looks.

She went from the top to nowhere quickly.

Where did Meg Ryan go anyway?

Dunno if mentioned yet but..

Sam Worthington. Has he been in anything since Avatar? Sure I know he's likely up for the 56 sequels that are getting made so he'll be around.. but yeah. He was supposed to be going somewhere, and I think Avatar kinda killed the momentum (and I love the movie but maybe it was just too huge).

I'm assuming the career killing move was letting people see him "act"

'The Number 23' did a number on Jim Carrey's career. I don't think he's been cast in a dramatic role since, and he's been in some really shitty comedies.

Emma Stone similar to Lindsey Lohan?

They both have red hair? That's where the similarities end imo.

I don't even think Emma Stone is a natural redhead?

To think that either Emma Stone or Scarlett Johansson would have had lesser careers if Lohan was still around is pretty hilarious. Lohan was a shit-tier actor who's main draw was her cuteness, which quickly dissipated after her teen years.

Haven't heard about this before. Details?

Willis turned down a role in Expendables 3 because he wanted $4m and Stallone would only offer $3m (this was a role for ~10 minutes of screentime and four days of filming).

Looking at their careers since then, nobody's really come off particularly well, but Willis has gone completely into direct-to-DVD territory.

Ghost Dog is the shit.

What's the Anthony Mackie movie?

Edit: Ghost Dog OT if anyone wants to come and join us with taste.

Lohan was positioned to be a mega star. She had the backing for it. Her complete self destruction is what stopped her. Scarlett I can see being relevant even if Lohan didn't emplode.

Emma Stone though? Her roles were made for prime Lohan.

So were a lot of other heavily marketed teen stars. It almost never lasts. Even if she didn't implode, I couldn't even picture her being relevant today. Emma Stone is talented, with a great personality, and she's cute. Lohan though?

Guess what? People can make choices on their ailments. Dentists throughout Europe told Freddie Mercury they can perfectly remove his overbite. He refused. Doctors in NYC found cancer forming in Bob Marley's toe and told him he had a greater chance of survival from cancer if he had the toe amputated. He refused. Your view on Whittaker's refusal to treat his ailment is straight up petty.

It might also be to do with the fact that he's an anti-vaxxer, and then there was the Kickass 2 thing where he tried to convince people to not see the film because of the violence in it or something.
