Kinect actually seems cool and I'm digging the controller.
Aaanndd that's about it.
Aaanndd that's about it.
The 360 one does that too unless I'm missing something. I use my wired 360 controller on my PC.
The thing is all this bs Microsoft is doing sucks. They have a powerful box (compared to 360), a better controller and a better Kinect.
Same, I'd have to see options like if I can play it without batteries and connected to the cable or a simple wired version is the big thing I want if I'm going to replace the 360 one on my PC, d-pad be damned since that doesn't come into play too much. Or playing a shooter with a pad, so if devs want to program subtle differences in guns into the trigger motors it'll be lost on me anyway. The wired 360 controller does work on PC, yes.
The wireless 360 controller does not work on PC using the charge cable. You need a seperate dongle (I bought a 3rd party one for like $10-15) to get the wireless working on the PC.
I'm mostly just happy that the Xbox One doesn't have any new features that would render the 360 controller obsolete for PC's. The 360 controller has finally become standard in a large amount of PC games and I didn't want a new controller to fracture the support or anything like that.
Here's a VERGE hands on.

I'm really warming up to the controller. It just looks beautiful to me.
I can't seem to understand your post. It sucks but is better? or are you referring to another thing?
Neo Kinect seems like such a leap, 1080P Skycalls should also be pretty good.
You'll have to pay a fee to install the drivers on the PC.
Looks like battery packs might still be an option:

I'm pretty excited. The original Kinect's biggest downfalls were A) It was technologically behind where it needed to be and B) It was an afterthought by most developers considering that most homes with an Xbox lacked it. With those two things no long true, it's going to be cool to see what high level developers are able to do with something where input lag and attach rate are not longer an issue.
There was definitely room for improvement. Some positive comments about the controller sound good too.http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4353232/kinect-xbox-one-hands-on
The consensus is starting to form that the new Kinect is pretty fucking impressive.
I want a boxing simulator.
THE FULL PRICE.Shhhhh. Gaf doesn't like positive Xbox news...
If only the Ps4 had a controller like that...
Be surprised. Kinect is like running a dead-end for hundreds of miles hoping to find a way out. Yet, there isn't one, and it would have just been easier to run back.
This thing has nothing innovative or exciting to offer in regards to gaming, besides some capabilities we have already seen i.e. dance central etc. Devs have had years to work with this thing. The recognition system isn't at fault; it's just that the whole thing is terrible and useless. The technology will only become useful, once the system is able to locate you in a virtual reality, where you can run around and do shit. Until then, its capabilities are extremely limited and mostly in regards to useless voice recognition stuff, that you can procure much faster with buttons. We see the same shit with phones etc; face unlocking and such. But, no-one gives a fuck about these features, when they're inefficient.
edit: I appreciate the technology and it looks cool. But, that's merely it. It's not 'THE NEXT BIG THING'. It's simply improving immensely on a flawed formula.
Shit looks great to me.
How much do you think the controller will cost? $100? $75?
They didn't use it in a real game. I didn't see any finger tracking either. I can't imagine that it's as bad as the original Kinect but it might be too early to start the ticker tape parade. Thanks for posting this. I'm trying to read multiple sources to get good info, as gaf is getting me down about the console reveal. Watched it, liked what I saw. Came on gaf to what seemed to be the apocalypse. It's telling about the mood on gaf, that the news that the controller is excellent and Kinect 2 is very accurate, isn't getting even a full page of discussion.

Hope Remedy abuses the shit out of it in Alan wake 2![]()
