Not really.
Activision seems to have somewhat actively snubbed the games media. I don't even mean the day 1 embargo and no review copies, but in marketing. Any time you visited practically any media site just prior to the release of Titanfall it was borderline spam of the game. Numerous sites would auto-play full page audio-visual Titanfall marketing material when clicking on certain links, including but not limited to the actual review on some sites. That level of advertising translates to big advertising dollars being thrown at review sites. The coverage for Destiny was far more modest. That almost certainly is simply because less advertising dollars were being thrown at games media sites. The game's record breaking budget has that act going from a snub to something even more severe.
I'm still not convinced this is anything more than: "Don't wanna share the love? Fine! Take this, we'll review your game - honestly!!!!" For now I don't think there's any reason to think this was anything but a one off incident precipitated by Activision trying to cut back on their marketing expenses. They'll make a false causation as usual (sales didn't meet our completely unrealistic expectations? must be because of bad review scores!) and we'll be back to the status quo in no time.
