I have zero sympathy for anyone who didn't jump ship in 2013. If they stuck with Xbox they deserve this.
I was all in on original Xbox over PS2 that generation, I was on the side of the console with the most horsepower (I owned both but would buy every multiplat for Xbox). Xbox had amazing exclusives from Bioware and Sega, pretty sure half of my top 10 that generation are like Kotor, Jade Empire, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, etc.
I was a very early adopter of the 360. But I also bought a PS3 and it had such good exclusives (I am a huge Motorstorm/Killzone/Naughty Dog fan) that I considered that generation a tie.
Xbox's 2013 E3 was so disastrous, and Sony buried the hatched so deep in their skulls, you simply must not have been following gaming news if you did not jump ship and go PS4 exclusive. How do you stick with the company that wanted to eliminate discs and sharing altogether, wanted to make always on-line for every single player game a thing, was more focused on cable television then game announcements, and was offering all this utter bullshit at a higher price point?
And in the midst of the Xbox One generation Microsoft made it clear all their exclusives would come to PC as well, so there was never any reason to buy an Xbox One or a Series X.
