You know what would've been a better twist?

If while Garret was smirking at Ward as if he's won...

And then Ward shoots him point blank in the head too.

Ward didn't say Hail Hydra. Not sure what to make of that. Probably will turn out he's going deep undercover or some garbage. Hand was a LMD or something.

Winter Soldier running at the top of the ticket, giving everything else in the MCU a bump

That said, I'd still say Winter Soldier is more than worth seeing, even if it's technically spoiled by this episode. The actual execution of the movie is still great, and knowing the "ending" may actually give you more of an appreciation of it (see all those studies about spoilers sometimes making a story more enjoyable, heh).

I could sorta see the "Ward is actually undercover" theory happening though. Maybe.

I'm pretty sure Ward is going undercover into Hydra. I highly doubt Hand would of let Ward kill Garrett. An elaborate ruse, I say.

It's possible, but hard to be redeemed in shields eyes for cold blooded killing those shield officers and agent hand (assuming she's dead)

Instead of being deep undercover I think it's more likely that he's a reluctant participant that will ultimately do the right thing and redeem himself.

That would be interesting.
They made such a huge deal about Hand being by the book, so I really doubt she'd go mercenary on Garrett. And she's already demonstrated her ability to use deception, so I can see her faking her own death to get Ward inside Hydra.

Ward's nod to Coulson and at the end is a dead giveaway, though they probably want us to think that it means Coulson is Hydra, which is not happening.

Ward seemed pretty cold and non-conflicted with his double tap. He would make a good ongoing foil for the team. Triplett (?) would make a good and fitting replacement on the team. Would also be intersting if Ward was the Cairvoyant all along and was getting his rocks off playing the team.

Triplett is sketchy to me. Why would he be the only one of Garrett's team to escape his murder spree? His over-the-top yelling at Garrett is also pretty suspicious.

I think he's the long con, not Ward.
