I did not like "The Well" that much as well, and I think the basic idea is solid.
It just needed a better execution, or a b-story.

Also some poeple in this thread conisdered it their favourite episode,
so I guess the episode did something right at the end.

The resolution of the plot doesn't even make sense. It's like "after using this staff, its mental effects will take decades to wear off... you will probably be mentally scarred for a long time" and then IT NEVER GETS BROUGHT UP AGAIN. The only other time that staff/rod/whatever appears, its adverse effects aren't mentioned and it's played straightly: as a superpowered weapon that gives you super strength. Ugh.

I mean, it reminds me that that storyline exists and that I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out, but even as a fan of the show, I don't think it makes for a very compelling visual.

If I didn't already know that the guy with his back to the camera was Coulson or that the writing/diagram had some mysterious, otherworldly significance, I'd find it both dull and meaningless.

I would like the ad better if Coulson was a bit smaller to show how big the design is, but it's not offensively bad. It's intriguing.

Probably not, no. She's probably some other alien, and now she's got some Kree in her. She's basically a big soup of alien thingies.

I would also remind people that a 616 version of Skye is being introduced in a few months, which makes it pretty unlikely that she's an existing, canon Marvel character (though she's almost certainly connected to some canon Marvel character, or at least race). Not impossible, of course, since it's a separate universe, but from interviews, it sounds like Waid and his editors' intent is to avoid any major divergences with the TV characters.

That's not a problem with the episode itself.
You would have to blame future episodes for not following continuity

This was a step in the right direction and it was the first episode that gave me hope for the series getting better. It was pretty good but it wasn't show-savingly good like the next string of episodes were.

Except that the AoS comic has a 'they interact with the whole Marvel Comics Book universe' promotion. Which, to me, makes it not even close to TV show canon. The Avengers think Coulson is dead, GOTG are in space and don't visit Earth, FF/Spidey/X-Men are at other studios... so I'd wager there's no connectivity beyond the shared name.

Agreed. It's an image that really only appeals to fans of the show (and even then, as you said, it's still really bland and unexciting), which, I think, is the opposite of what a billboard is supposed to do.

It will interesting to see where they go with the entire Kree blood thing. We didn't get much of a view of the Kree beyond Ronan in GOTG, unless there was something I missed to tie it back into AoS. I would have expected them to take the opportunity to tie in somehow, beyond big and blue.

Thanks. Season 1 was a pretty disjointed for me as I had to take breaks after the release of Thor and Captain America. Shouldn't be a problem this season with The Avengers not being released until May. Watching the last 6 episodes in 1 go was pretty sweet though.
