I think Kevin Fiege is an Executive Producer for Season 2 though, so I think he's gonna hopefully have a little more input on direction and execution here.

and that in itself could be what sets s2 apart from s1 since the MCU is finally taking the TV stuff seriously, as can be seen with the talent pool from the movies jumping onto Agent Carter.

Let's just hope they give AoS some lovin' as well.

What makes you so sure?

ABC was hoping for a four-quadrant show, which may have played into the schizophrenia of the show early on.

Loeb is just terrible at everything he does. It should be self-explanatory. Bell... he hasn't exactly said anything in interviews that reassures me about anything on the show.

We got (at least) one Emmy nomination:

Outstanding Special And Visual Effects

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. • T.A.H.I.T.I. • [...snip...]

Against:
Almost Human • Pilot
COSMOS: A SpaceTime Odyssey • The Immortals
Game Of Thrones • The Children
The 100 • We Are Grounders, Part 2

And Game of Thrones won

A few days ago I noticed this was added to Netflix (here in Latin America at least) and decided to give it a go. I'm up to episode 7 and I must say it's quite decent! My only gripe is the ridiculous excess of techno and science babble that gets spewed every 5 minutes by the "scientists" and "hackers". Other than that though, I like the humor and the plot is decent enough. I remember people criticizing it when it first aired but I've been finding plenty of things to like.

Looking forward to the second half if it's as good as people claim it is.

At least you can talk. Who are you?
I think we all knew this had some significance, but it's nice to reaffirm it.

She can't act for shit, so she'll fit right in.

That said, girlfriend there is kind of buff-ish. I've seen her in from Dusk Till Dawn and she had a surprisingly nice build. Mockingbird is a good role for her.

I'm also kind of surprised they are giving such a big-ish name right off the bat instead of dicking around like they did with Deathstroke.

Edit: She also looks much better with dark hair, but what can you do.

I've liked her since Friday Night Lights, and she is ridiculously attractive, so I'm okay with this.

Edit: Should I look up who mockingbird is in the comics, or do I risk major spoilers?

No, don't need to worry about anything crazy. In the comics, she is a long-time SHIELD agent who was once married to Hawkeye.

So happy for Adrianne after having the stigma of that WW pilot follow her around.

She'll be a fantastic addition to this show.

That costume belongs nowhere else than the bedroom.

It's embarrassing even for Halloween.

having worked in a halloween store a number of years, that costume isnt showing enough skin to be sold in the "sexy" costume section. not even close. there was this one "school girl" costume... I think my socks have more material then went into making that costume.
ah, here it is... NSFW "Schoolgirl" costume

- EW: 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' taps 'Teen Wolf' star
Brian Patrick Wade has been tapped to play Carl “Crusher” Creel, otherwise known as
the Marvel villain Absorbing Man, on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Creel will “put Coulson and his team through their paces” in the season premiere, according to Marvel.com.
The Teen Wolf alum joins previously announced guest stars Adrianne Palicki, Lucy Lawless, Kyle MacLachlan, Reed Diamond, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons, and Simon Kassianides.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

I really hope Marvel can get some ILM interns to help out on SFX this season.

Disney owns ILM right?
Gotta make those interns earn their permanent positions, and making super powers look good on a TV budget is a sure fire way to earn some cred.

So over the past couple weeks I marathoned through this and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I figured it'd be. The first two or three episodes sucked, but it improved pretty quickly after that. I ended up enjoying it a lot even before the Ward twist.

random thoughts:

- Simmons is goddamn adorable.
- Patton Oswalt was great and I hope they use him a lot more.
- Clark Gregg is a hilarious runner. Not quite at Steven Seagal's level, but it's pretty good.
- Victoria Hand's actress was gawbage.
- Triplet's actor was awkward too. “Sir, I bring the funk and the noise wherever I go.” Bruh, you might even be more boring than pre-twist Ward. The fuck are you talking about?
- This girl, on the other hand, was excellent:

- Fitz got friendzoned after offering to and was about to die for the girl. Holy shit.
- Bill Paxton was chewing the fuck out of the scenery, and it was awesome.

With DC shows like Flash and GOTHAM and Marvel ones like Agent Carter I don't think I will continue watching. I really dig the nerd Brit girl though

Speaking of the TV Flash, the two lab geeks in it seem like lame wannabes of Fitzsimmons. Except instead of having two fantastic actors like Henstridge and De Caestecker, they have two meh ones.

Yes. Welcome to the fold, brother.

- Patton Oswalt was great and I hope they use him a lot more..
That seems to be the case.

- Clark Gregg is a hilarious runner. Not quite at Steven Seagal's level, but it's pretty good.
CG is awful at anything physical, from shooting to running. It's just plain bad.

- Fitz got friendzoned after offering to and was about to die for the girl. Holy shit.
Simmons friendzoned him so bad he got brain damage. Think about that.

- Bill Paxton was chewing the fuck out of the scenery, and it was awesome.
He was the season's MVP. My only concern is that the man was horrendously out of shape for a SHIELD agent. I mean, those sweaters...

That said, it looks like S2 is going to be rather different. They are already announcing some "heavy hitters" (well, Marvel c-listers) right off the bat instead of just teasing them, so there's that.

Absorbing Man? For real!? Hopefully they have the special effects budget to do him justice. He's one of my favorite Marvel bad guys, purely on a visual/conceptual level.

So I"m guessing they're going to go the gamma route with Absorbing Man like in the cartoon? Or I wonder if they'll try to tie him to Asgard. Regardless, Kreel is a heavy hitter, but luckily he's dumb as hell so I'm expecting some cute hijinks by the team to defeat him.
