I haven't played any games yet but I plan on playing Wind Waker and Metal Gear Solid: TTS. I got it specifically for Fire Emblem: PoR
. I hope theres a big difference (like in SotC).

I have one.......well It's actually on sale at ebay but before I decided to sell my cube I LOVED the progressive scan games ( alot of them support pro scan) if you have an hdtv you see a very noticable difference and if not it will still look noticably better than s-video.BlueTsunami said:Yes. Who actually has one? I heard that the newer Gamecube models discontinued the Digital Out feature. Also, is the price for the cable itself worth it (for the people who have bought it). I'm going to find out myself a little later.
Mejilan said:I've been using the component cable for years. I cannot recall any other way of playing GCN games.

Pellham said:I guess I could get one off ebay... Do 3rd party component cables work just as well?
Yusaku said:I kind of regret buying the cable. By the time I got it my interest in the Gamecube and games without "Zelda" in the title was like -9000%. I tested my games, said "ooh nice", and that was it.
Is F-Zero GX the only GC game that's widescreen?
Strange, everytime I load up a game I don't have to hold B it just asks me if I want it on.dock UK said:If you have a display that can handle Prog Scan, it's an absolute must. The visual quality via prog scan in phenominal. I hate the 'hold B' thing though, they could have easily made it a bios menu setting.
yudaan said:What 3rd party component cables? (ie there aren't any 3rd party component cables for the GCN).
Or try Lik-Sang, I don't see anything saying they're sold out.
What are you talking about?Ecrofirt said:Japanese DVI cable?

For my PS2 (slim), SC2 asked me, but Burnout Revenge needs prompting. I appreciate those rare gems like Priaml and GT4 where you can just set this shit in the menu each time.
Yes, and I said each time.BlueTsunami said:doesn't GT4 require you to set 1080i everytime you play the game? (turn it off then on)

koam said:That's because you held B the first time. After the first time, it will always ask you. At least, iirc it does.
Oh, cool! So does it save it in the individual game save, or on the actual BIOS? IE do I need to hold B with each game once?Leondexter said:Yeah, that's how it works. Once you've held B once, you don't have to hold it again--it'll always ask you (and default to yes if you don't press anything for a few seconds). But if you choose No, or use it with composite or S-video once, then you'll have to hold B again the next time.
Once you've set one game to progressive, all progressive-capable games will give the prompt.dock UK said:Oh, cool! So does it save it in the individual game save, or on the actual BIOS? IE do I need to hold B with each game once?
Many EA games support widescreen too, especially EA Sports Big titles.demonix69 said:Soulcalibur II, I-Ninja, SSX3, Super Monkey Ball 2, Star Fox Adventures, Eternal Darkness all support widescreen. There are others but I don't remember off hand.

That's awesome, though a little pointless considering that I don't believe any of the minority of progressive GCN games go over 480P.Ecrofirt said:
