Your scholarly look can't fool me, I smell the booze.

Well, now it has 1,001, so it's cancelled.

Welp, party's over then.

Edit: This is the 999th reply to this thread, and it's a picture of Teddie. Zero Escape x Persona totally confirmed.

I can't @ the 999th post being this garbage.

If it helps I fully support this viewpoint and agree with it.

Looks more like code which refers to text language and font; not really something to scrutinize there, I think.
It's still suspect. Open Sans loaded through Google Web Fonts allows you to pick only the languages you need to use, allowing them to send a smaller file to improve loading times. I'm on my phone, so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure English is the only one selected by default, too. Although, maybe the Word Press theme is really wonky, and Aksys never bothered modifying the theme code.

I tried the username and password from vlr in the admin panel and no dice.

I've tried so many. ;_;
Yeah, don't do that. That's not hiding anything; it's just for controlling the site content. In fact, messing with it might just trigger WordPress security and add extra headaches for Aksys.

Oh I promise enough of us have tried it that that would have been triggered ages ago >.>
RIP

Didn't realize that, hopefully I didn't mess something up. Also the furthest I got into the 2nd image was "akane no escape" and "snake loves clove".

Snake x Clover explored in ZE3?

Oh snake I love you lol my favorite character in 999
Obvious spoiler covered in spoiler tag
I was so releaved when I found out that it wasn't his dead body in that room, I was so sad everytime I had to go into that room before I knew the truth

What's really interesting about those images is that they each contain 5 words, with a total of 23 letters in each image. That seems like a conscious choice. If you take the digital root of 23, you get 5.

mirror the image and you possibly have have εθεθ?

Google tells me theta (θ) has a greek numeral value of 9 (!!!) but epsilon is only 5 so...

9595? lol

digital root of that is only 1 so

i got nothin'

Ah, but you're forgetting something. What is Junpei's number in 999? And what was Akane's original number?

Regardless, as for the countdown going down slower than usual, it might be operating on Radical-6 time. A day, for a person going through Radical-6, would be 58 hours and someodd minutes. If you divide the original 303 by radical-6, then you get (approximately) 124 days (assuming it is days). 124 days from when it originally went up would be July 19th. The day after E3. It'd make more sense if it landed ON E3, but there you go. That's my crazy theory for tonight.

May I ask where did people learn of this effing announcement of something on Sunday?

Also, in the Facebook post where Aksys shared the URL, did everybody miss out on how they announced the teaser?
Happy Hump Day!

Fishy. Very fishy indeed.

I'd say we add these letters to the anagrams and see if something comes out of it. Maybe this is an anagram in itself.

EDIT:

I made the calculation too, but I found a significantly larger number.

1) 48/(sqrt)6 = 19.5959179

The amount of time elapsed real-time for the counter to change by 0001 divided by radical 6, to find how many hours pass counter-time for each change.

2) 19.5959179*303 = 5937.56312

To find how many hours it will take counter-time to reach zero.

3) 5937.56312/24= 247.398463 days.

3a) 5937/24 is 247, with a remainder of 9 hours.

Well, if this tease went up on Wednesday, it makes sense. A hump day describes a day in which you get over a "hump" so to speak to get to something nice at the end of it (in this case, the weekend). Whether there's more to it than that is debatable.

...I think it's counting down to October 13th of this year.

EDIT:

Your original calculation used 48, so using 24 in the ending calculation doesn't make as much sense. If you swap 24 with 48, you get 123.6875 days, or 124 days.

I used 48 as the number of real-time hours it took the counter to decrease by 1. Dividing that by (sqrt)6, I got the rate for the counter to decrease in counter-time, which is 19.59 hours per number.

Multiplying that with 303, I figured that it would take 5937 hours for the counter to reach zero in counter-time. I then divided it by 24 just to convert that result to a number of days.

EDIT II: Forgot to add seven days, I think it is the 20th and not the 13th.

Think about it, it's impossible that they tease something 124 days earlier, that will be ridiculous.
As I've said maybe the counter doesn't have to arrive to "0000" or they speed it up or something.

Possible. I'm not 100% committed to any theory, but coming up with them is half the fun.

Yeah I know we should take all options, but in my opinion that doesn't make sense, I don't remember too many web countdowns like this one, but highly doubt that any will be as long as you are supposing this one is.

It could be that they have already determined a release date.

Also, I realized I forgot to add seven days, I think it will be the 20th of October, not the 13th.

Edit: If my calculations are correct, I think that is around when the counter hits 179 as we see it.

And the release that might be too early, and then they should do the announcement much before that October 13th.
About the search page it might hide something interesting aksys works but I don't seem to find more than that...
EDIT: infinity also works,7,11,17 too.
Also 4infinity, but not 3infinity,2infinity etc.

Exactly. We should probably wait a few days or a week before jumping to crazy conclusions.

It seems a bit pointless to guess now to be honest. We need to see some sort of pattern. We don't even know if the first '03' will change or if it's just the second '03'. If the first '03' changes I think we can then figure out when the countdown timer will end - whether it's weeks or months. Or if it's even a countdown timer at all! o_O

I there was three years between 999 and VLR's releases. Given how the game released, flopped in Japan, got localized, sold well in NA, and then VLR got developed in a span of three years, if the game was in development concurrently in English and Japanese it is possible they would reveal something, but yes now that I think about it it is very very unlikely that it is the release date, and therefore it makes close to no sense that they would tease an announcement or something so far down the line.

Even if ZE3 went right into development after going into indefinite hiatus, that would give it around 1.5 years to be fully developed.

...I think we're looking at a completely wrong angle here. I do not think it is a sort of countdown, or at least we have not found its algorithm yet. It indeed might be counting something down, but I think there is far more to it than a countdown.

I've always fantasized of a very deeply hidden secret route in 999 or VLR that nobody has found yet, and won't until somebody comes across weird code after breaking down the game, lots and lots of years later.

I found something interesting.

Remember images A and B?

When I multiply their length by their width, both numbers return a digital root of 9.

More assurance that it might be something ZE related.

https://twitter.com/uchikoshi/status/577476837233700864 He said he was the game version of punchline on sunday.

Thanks. Might give this game a chance if it comes out on Vita.

Also, another interesting tidbit: The image titled "4infinity" has dimensions which, when multiplied, give a digital root of 4.

EDIT:

Would it? Is the Infinity series known for large amounts of fanservice?

Maybe it'll pull a Spec Ops The Line (or Muv Luv)
Seemingly mundane and ordinary, but becomes something rather exceptional
