Aksys is teasing something

What are the chances of knowing anything about this tease before E3? Does Aksys usually have a relevant presence at E3? A booth or something?

I don't know if I can't wait that long without knowing anything about this mysterious website. ;_;

Mmm vlr spoilers
could the website have radical 6? I mean if it's supposed to change every day of number but it does at 2,45 days(sqrt of 6)?Can someone confirm that?

Yeah it has to be something like that... 20th changed to 0302 and we are on 22th and it hasn't changed....

Assuming that the counter changes every 48 hours and it is influenced by Radical-6, I calculated that the counter points at the 20th of October.

Since the site is called 4infinity that seems to be the most logical possibility.

I have never heard of the Infinity series, can someone tell me something about it? Some screens?

The Infinity series is a series of games that are fairly similar to 999 and VLR and Uchikoshi worked on them too, except they're pure visual novels, with no puzzles. They're not really as connected narratively as the Zero Escape games either.

There are three games in the Infinity series, Never 7, Ever 17 and Remember 11, then it had a followup series called the Integral series, although only one game from that, 12Riven, actually got released. There was another title called Code_18, but that had no involvement from the original devs. The fact that 12Riven exists makes me think that this can't be Infinity 4, since that game fills that role.

It's not going to countdown to October 20th. I can't see them making a countdown that lasts that long. That would be completely ridiculous. Assuming a number goes down every 48 hours, I'm thinking that the 2 will reach 0, and then the 3 will countdown to 0. So at the moment I'm thinking that it'll end in just over a week.

12Riven isn't part of the Infinity Series. It was supposed to be the first entry in a new trilogy called the Integral series which takes place in the same universe as the Infinity series. But it bombed and Cyberfront didn't make the sequels.

Yeah, I did some googling after I posted that and edited to fix it. It's still a sequel to the Infinity games though, so would fill the role of a fourth game.

My bet: 4infinity is the game's subtitle, like:
Zero Escape: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
Zero Escape: 4Infinity(as in For Infinity)

Hmm, this is kind of difficult. I would've been interested to see his facial reaction to that question. I suppose it's possible he's going for a fake out.

Still, while I've tried to keep my expectations in check on this, it's hard to deny that the presentation of everything seems to suggest that this is related to ZE in some way. Even the Infinity web address could arguably be tied into ZE.

If it's not ZE, then it's something to do with the Infinity series (be it a localization of the trilogy or a new entry).

Here's the teaser of the first game:

Ever17 is the tale of seven individuals who come to be trapped 153 feet within the underwater marine theme park, LeMU. During an apparently normal day at the park, a massive accident happens, placing almost half of the facility underwater. The path to the surface and the communication lines are cut off. In addition, LeMU is under constant assault by severe water pressure, limiting time to find a means of escape to 119 hours. Escape is not the only concern, however; many questions arise as to the legitimacy of the accident and whether or not those trapped there were brought there for a purpose.

I know nothing about it, but apparently it shares some similarities to Zero Escape.

It's not going to countdown to October 20th. That's ridiculous.

Do the math, and it is October 20th assuming it decreases at one number per 48 hours. It's at this perfectly weird point where it is nonsensical to tease an announcement or an event that far away and way too early to tease a hypothetical release date.

It IS ridiculous, but let me just post my calculations and please point out any mistakes I might have, if you may.
1) 48/(sqrt)6 = 19.5959179

The amount of time elapsed real-time for the counter to change by 0001 divided by radical 6, to find how many hours pass counter-time for each change.

2) 19.5959179*303 = 5937.56312

To find how many hours it will take counter-time to reach zero.

3) 5937.56312/24= 247.398463 days.

3a) 5937/24 is 247, with a remainder of 9 hours.

247 days, when added to the 18th of March (the day the tease went live), gives us 20th October, which is indeed nonsensical.

Hence why I think there is far more to it than we are seeing.

EDIT: I tried to see if I could get something out of how many sides the numbers on the counter have.

0 has 15 or 27 sides(not counting inside/ counting inside, depends on how you look at it), 3 has 33 (I think) and 2 has 23 (not sure about this one either).

Assuming 0 with 27 sides, we get:

27-33-27-33

which changed to

27-33-27-23

Or if we take the digital roots of these numbers:

9-6-9-6

to

9-6-9-5

... Assuming 0 with 15 sides:

15-33-15-33

to

15-33-15-23

with digital roots:

6-6-6-6

to

6-6-6-5

...I do not know what to make of this.

Still think it can't be a coincidence that there are 23 letters each. Played around a bit more with my 46 Chromosome, 23 each idea and this being like the DNA puzzles in VLR.

While I didn't find anything yet, there really could be something. It's just a matter of how to order the words and how to read them (left->right, right->left, up-> down, down->up, vertically, etc.)

I don't see what a Famitsu interview - that we don't know of when it took place and that can be outdated - has to do with this specific teaser. It could be all just a formal announcement with no images.

Why would Aksys troll us with a massive teaser, especially the numbers Zero Three Zero Three, which is about an unrelated anime? Doesnt make sense imo.

I'm not getting my hopes up.

Like everyone else I desperately want this to be Zero Escape 3, but my guess is its going to be a collection of the first four Infinity games, thus '4Infinity'. (Never 7, Ever 17, Remember 11, and 12Riven).

The fifth game isn't based in the same universe so it would makes sense if it wasn't included.

Your synposis of the game sounds real interesting, but then I watched that trailer and EWW. I can't play a game with that disgusting anime girl style... no thanks.

Would be interesting if we're thinking of this as having some relation to genetics. Capital letters could signify dominant and small letters can mean recessive, so maybe ignore them?

This has gotten me way too excited. Am I going to be disappointed? Probably, but I can't help the hype.

This whole event has also reminded me I've never played the Infinity series. I'll probably do that now.

If we add all the words from both images to consider them a single anagram, the phrase "Kyle Klim's Clone" checks out.

Also, is it just me or has the counter not changed?

Fufufufufu. This just got a lot more interesting.

Are you thinking 2.27 days (between changes)?

edit: The first 03 could still stand for "Zero Three" and the other two numbers for "Days until announcement". If the "person" who made the counter has Radical-6, that could mean 2.27 days until one day passes. Probably not, it's hard to calculate if we don't know the exact date the site went up and the time the counter changed.

As long as this reveals a visual novel, I'm good.

My heart will shatter to pieces if this is not ZE3, but I can only blame my wishful thinking and my rationalization of the given clues for that.

Somebody said that this thing might be counting down weeks and months, in which case it would fall around the first week of June, I think.

Edit:

Are you thinking 2.27 days?

That gives us around 685 days until the countdown ends.

Maybe if we switch out letters A-F with their base-10 counterparts, we will find something.

Google has a cached version from 28 Feb, so sometime between the beginning of the month and now(it's important to notice that google don't cache images only text, hence the cached version is broken).

Are you guys sure about the math? IIRC, a person who suffers from Radical-6 has the time perception slowed down from the square root of 6. Meaning that 1 second in this person corresponds to the square root of 6(approximately 2.45). Thus, 1 Radical-6 day = 2.45 days.

Sorry, my fault. You're right. This is the quote from the wiki:

The first symptom affects the brain, mainly a person's perception of time. An infected human perceives time at about √6 of normal rate, increasing mental processing rate. For every roughly 2.45 seconds in real time, an infected human would process this as 1 second. Thus, 2 minutes and 27 seconds (147 seconds) in real time is perceived as 1 minute (60 seconds) to a patient infected by Radical-6.

Holy crap. This has to be ZE3, it has to.
Thats very interesting actually - Kyle was a clone of Sigma, so what if ? is actually a clone of Kyle?

That Radical-6 theory would be soooo cool.

Numbers on the website change after 1 day, but whole world is already infected with Radical-6 so for us it feels like 2.45 days.
It would also go with theory that at the end of VLR
the conciusness inside Kyle's body is the player

If it really works, we'd get our confirmation that it's ZE related.

Woah, that really is an awesome theory.
Plz be true.

Well interesting with the Radical-6 theory.
If that is indeed true, when should we expect the site to update next?
If it does update then, I will be very damn hyped!

It's been more than 2 days since the last update, so within the next 12 hours.

We're in too deep. Anyone who's saying they don't want to get their hopes up too high already seem to have them too high ;o

I don't think it's possible for me to have higher hopes. I hit the hope ceiling. I invested 100% of my body and soul. I am full Mulder. I Believe.
