No, I think his obsession with her is legit and that'll probably be his downfall. He might lock her up so she can't go back to earth, but I wouldn't say he's not loyal. A warped sense of loyalty, but he's not going to kill her or anything.
Unless you mean betray her original intention of peace with Earth, which he has already done a while ago.

I don't have faith in Assyleum effectively doing anything except waiting for her noscope saviour, she's historically had less agency than a rock.
Though I guess in general season two has been fixing up the parts I really disliked about season one (Inaho more humanironically thanks to robot parts, Slaine making decisions for himself, extended cast somewhat capable of doing things, Martians now fighting in groups), so maybe Assyleum can be an actual character too.
I doubt it though!

Watching this episode made me wonder why don't the Terrans just ram all the Martian Mechas with the Deucalion.
What are it's drawbacks?

No I understand that, but I thought the doctor said that expanding upon the functions of the eye/engine thingy was harmful, not actually using the eye. The doctor said that after Inaho mentioned how he'd been tinkering around with the eye and expanding upon what it could do and the doctor urged him not to increase what it could be doing any further. That's what I took from it.
And I guess it's safe to say he's kept expanding on that given all the "Oh, your eye can even see this?" reactions from people since then.
You might be right. I don't remember all the details, just that the eye is a double edged sword.

Something is definitely wrong with his eye. I agree with you guys this is probably going to go down the self sacrifice angle with Asseylum and Inko doing a lot of crying. Strangely though, I hope he makes it through and hooks up with Rayet. She seems to be on his level.

Lol, the only person Slaine has left is Harklight since both princesses are against him. Asshime, please don't point guns at people you have zero plan to shoot.
I see the final battle taking place on the moon with Slaine planting his castle on the moon. He's going to lose 100% but I have no idea if he'll die or not though. No one can deny he's the villain right now though. What a weird ride this character has gone through in this show.

Slaine's motivations continue to baffle me. He waxed on about how war would have happened eventually, and how he was doing what's necessary to either eliminate one side completely or assimilate them. So he seems to hate "war". But the war had barely even affected him at all, aside from Saazbaum crying to him about how bad the conditions are on Vers, which he never saw, and all that stuff.
And by proclaiming he is not a Vers citizen anymore, that pretty much cements his third faction, I guess? I just don't understand.
As for Terran side. I guess Inaho killed some more Martians in this episode. Add complete prediction of other people's behavior without even being able to see them to this list of stuff his eye can do. Looks like the newest orders for them are "higher than the Satellite Belt", so maybe they plan to assault Vers directly?
And by proclaiming he is not a Vers citizen anymore, that pretty much cements his third faction, I guess? I just don't understand.

Harklight seems to me like the prime candidate to back stab Slaine. I hope I'm right.
I think that ship sailed a few eps ago when Slaine announced the marriage and creation of new kingdom.
Not that Emperor of Vers gives a shit about how his army and his own daughter deserted him. Well unless it's why Cruhteo arrived here.
With 3 eps left I imagine they're just going for the Moon/Slaine base.

Slaine is such a shitty character. I was hoping for just one princess for him but fuck him. I'm glad TeamHime are united now.
I was thinking the same, but someone pointed something out to me. Going from "you always get in the way of my plans" to working together to stop Slaine seems like a major jump in character for Lemeria (especially in the span of one commercial break). Is it possible she had Asshime confront Slaine so he could officially be against Asshime. That way she would no longer have a hold on him as Lemeria claimed last episode. That would make more sense than Lemeria suddenly agreeing with her sister to stop the war, which Lemeria would have zero benefit from.
