Great episode(s)

Sure it's far-fetched as fuck, but I thought it was just fine.....as was Lena Olin!

Fantastic...you guys aren't the only ones who watched, just the only ones who wasn't working from 6:30-4:30 yesterday and was then rushed to Episode III.

They were both very good episodes...you could see where the split was originally supposed to be, however. Lost and Alias were supposed to have 3 hour "finales" split into two weeks of extended 1 1/2 hour episodes. American Idol's finale date put a wrench in this, as they would rather have the end of Lost competing with Idol's reveal than the beginning of Alias. So, we have the split we have.

I'm a little pissed that they put Lena Olin in the OPENING CREDITS. Like, this is a huge surprise for some people (Not me, I've known for over a month). My brother was sitting there watching, and when the name came up he asked me if he was seeing things. This was a fairly big deal and it should have been a literal surprise. At least make us DOUBT she's really alive. While, yes, she could have just been in for the flashback, everyone and their various exotic pets knows that she wouldn't come back for just a flashback. The money grubbing whore, as smoking hot as she is, wouldn't do that.

I think it was handled very well...but I can't help but wonder where the hell this goes from here. I admittedly avoided all previews that ABC released for Lost or Alias, so I really have no idea how they will manage this finale. There is only an hour left...one has to wonder how they can put a wrap on this storyline and provide a really good cliffhanger for next year after the lame result we got from last season. There are two types of cliffhanger. There is the "Questions" cliffhanger, seen most recently with Veronica Mars, and was last season's on Alias. We asked the question "What in the hell is on those papers?". The other is the "Result" cliffhanger. In other words, what the hell happens next. While there are usually also questions involved, it is a bit more about result. I'd rather see the latter...makes for more tension.

From what I've heard for next week, in vague terms regarding casting...I really want to figure this shit out. I've been wondering how they brought Lena Olin back ever since I read the spoiler by mistake, and it was satisfying. Let's see how they handle the finale.

Alias has newfound responsibility anchoring ABC's attempts to challenge CBS on Thursdays in September. Here's hoping we get a finale that sets up a spectacular season and enough Lost fans follow Alias in September.
