I never said people couldn't like Knack, and I never said I couldn't deal with it.

There's nothing wrong with liking games that are critically flawed from a game design perspective. Hell, I really like Mass Effect 1 and that game is downright broken sometimes.

when I was working in GAME, our PS4 demo unit had Knack playable, and everyday the kids who were dropped off by their parents would have a great time with it. Then we got FIFA 14 and the unit became so popular we had to keep it turned off.

I'm not joking when I say that you'll have a better time with nearly every LEGO game released in the past few years.

The combat in Knack is much better than in the LEGO games.

A brawler requiring mastery of timing its simple commands in changing combinations of enemies that significantly affect how you need to approach a fight to not die. A great change from many combo-memorisation-heavy and button-mashing games it shares its genre with.

If only it saved at its still-not-generous checkpoints so you could return mid-level, and chests weren't missed simply because you unknowingly passed a point of no return when checking out what paths there were.
