Which, for the record, is a pretty good soundtrack. Two Pearl Jam tracks, Alice in Chains, and a few other notables on there. Can't say anything for the movie though as I never saw it.
gollumsluvslave and siamesedreamer.....I am trying to figure out what you guys are referring to. I have listened to 1979 over 100 times since monday and I do not notice a recurring "twelve again" or "Oooooh Ahhhh". When does he say this? I do notice what appears to be a a word that sound like "chir" during every guitar riff though. But no Oooh Ahh or twelve again. Can you elaborate on where specifically this is said?

But if you're listening to the greatest hits album, you should try to get your hands on a copy of the Greatest Hits that came with the bonus disc 'Judas 0'. Judas 0 is a b-side disc with 16 tracks i think - but make no mistake, these b-sides aren't crappy or lousy demos, they rawk. (most sp b-sides rawk as much as album cuts
I have declared that the greatest hits album and judas was the absolute best investment in music I have made in the last year. I am now prompted to buy all their albums, but one thing about this idea that bothers me, is the fact that if I'm not mistaken, the tracks here are remastered and so clear and fantastic. When I get the original albums, the popular hits will likely not sound as rich or full as they do on the GH album. Do you know if there are plans to re-release and re-master all the Smashing Pumkins albums? Or has this been done already? Box set?

I know Siamese Dream was re-released, with more liner notes and stuff, but to me it didn't sound much different, I could be wrong. The original Siamese Dream sounded unbelievable back then, and still does to this day. Basically, when you go and buy the original albums, I don't think you'll be disappointed. (but let us know if you are, and do notice a difference)
There's no definitive box set yet, and maybe never will be. But I'm hoping there will be one, one that has the best songs, as well as rare b sides and demos, etc.
I swear 2 or 3 years ago someone made a very similar topic at the old GA boards about discovering the Pumpkins. I love it! I trust that people will continue to discover their greatness. I try to spread the love when I can, but people are often put off by Billy's voice, which once they get over that hump, quickly becomes one of the biggest assets to the band.
Anyone get a chance to see Zwan live for the brief time they toured? The music was still great, albeit happier.
