Customers who showed an interest in anime on DVD and Blu-ray might also be interested in saving up to 58% on over 200 anime titles. Offer ends August 8, 2011.

Link.

Notable titles include the Rebuild of Evangelion movies (Blu-ray), YuYu Hakasho Season One (Blu-ray), FLCL The Complete Series (Blu-ray/DVD), Samurai Champloo The Complete Series (Blu-ray), Eden of the East Complete Series/Movies (Blu-ray), Summer Wars (Blu-ray/DVD), Trigun The Complete Series (DVD), Chobits The Complete Series (Blu-ray/DVD), some of the DBZ Orange Bricks (DVD), Casshern Sins (Blu-ray/DVD), some DBZ Kai sets (Blu-ray/DVD), some One Piece sets (DVD), and Ouran The Complete Series (Blu-ray/DVD.) Of course, there are lots of other ones one sale too.

Sale percentage varies based on the set but them's the breaks. Seems like some good deals, though.

I was surprised to see some of the Kai sets on there, can't resist those at this price. And I've been meaning to get the Ouran Blu-ray, now's a good a time as any I guess.

I'm not too into Anime anymore, but I'll probably pick up those Yu Yu Hakusho BRDs. Love that show. Wish there was some One Piece BRDs.

is cowboy bebop even on blu-ray?
The movie is.

If you own the DVD box set of Yu Yu Hakusho, are the BD worth getting? Unscaled?
Yes. YYH was shot on film (and as such was rescanned in HD) and looks great. I have the first set.

I think all the series from there I'd be interested in trying out are on Netflix or I already own.

Lot of stuff in there though. Great price on the Eva movie Blu-rays.

I'd import with these deals but I'd get screwed by customs. Any option on Planet axel to submit a lower price like with amazon?

There's some good deals out there, but they also have this sale a lot. I've seen it 2 or 3 times this year already. It's pretty cyclical.

That said, I have enough backlogged anime right now that I don't need to be spending any money on anything new. Outside of Spice and Wolf Season 2.

What's so great about Kai? I thought the yellow box ones were the best?

Ya, Kai cuts out a lot of stuff it seems...
DragonBox would be best if you like the filler.

Unfortunately Kai stopped @ the Cell arc(unless Funi can change that)

Was really hoping the Dragon Boxes were back on sale since I missed the last one. I want them but I want them cheap since I don't prefer the Japanese music.

How's the Samurai Champloo Bluray? That's pretty much the last anime I've gotten into.
The new encode (which is the one on sale, don't worry) is pretty good - the old one looked worse than the DVD (due to excessive EE and DNR)

It's an upscale but it looks better than the DVDs so it's probably the best the show will look. It was animated in SD.

I have the original DVD releases of Samurai Champloo, but the prospect of updating them to BR is pretty hard to resist. And it's too bad Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki doesn't include the Pioneer-released seasons. :/

Slayers. Seasons 1-3 (all the 90's stuff) in a DVD box set for $25. Man, I shouldn't, but I'm certainly tempted. Plus, the two new seasons on BRD for half price as well.

All of Champloo for $23? I remember when that box used to cost $200.

Edit: Oh and Jesus Christ all of Chobits for $22?

I really need to dump my Vol. 2 & 3 DVDs somehow.

Kinda want FLCL... but I'm trying to save money for the big video game rush happening at the end of the year.

Sale resisted.

Ever darn time, can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or is Amazon borked when it comes to listing items by low to high price? I keep getting 22.49 to 5.99 to 11.49 to 5.49. its all over the place.

Slayers Seasons 1-3 on sale 50% off for $26...

Is it worth it? I'm debating whether I should spend the money at all, but I'm kind of eye-balling Slayers1-3 or Excel Saga Complete. HELP ME, GAF!

Think I'm going to pick up the Yu Yu Hakusho S1 Blu-ray. Never seen the anime but loved the manga. Was thinking about going through the series again so why not watch it instead?

I own most of these already - not sure which BR sets are worth upgrading to (i.e. the lazy transfers versus the good ones).

Sweet. I get paid today too. Lets see. FLCL for $19 bucks? Sure, why not. Anyone know if they're any good transfers for Blu-ray?
