Amazon Labor Day Sale for PC DD through 9/9 (Non US Buyers Read OP)

No widescreen support on Billy Hatcher, and there is definitely some screen tearing. 360 controller works on it, the camera is controlled by the triggers.

This game needs like a Sonic Adventure mod.

Does the game have a V-sync option to prevent tearing? Also, if not, can you force V-sync through your graphics drivers to disable tearing?

I had v sync on through my graphics card and it showed up still. It wasn't super common but it happened.

I just want widescreen on this! Lol

Good grief I wish people would have played the Gamecube version before buying Billy Hatcher PC.

It's sooo bad. The graphics, the music...the gameplay is even dull despite a unique premise.

:lol

I just watched a review. I had this game for the Gamecube, but I couldn't remember why I never played very far before ebaying it. The video review gave me flashbacks.

I'm still half-tempted to see how it looks in 3D (since it's only 2.50), but I think I'm just going to stick with picking up Condemned.

I had flashbacks of the camera and control really sucking in Billy Hatcher. Since these are such pet peaves of mine, and I know I'll hate it, it'll have to be as a lark if I still buy.

Hey Tony, I noticed that you guys have started selling Warner Bros. games for digital download. Congrats on pulling that one off, really great to see the Batman games and Bastion show up on the site. Any idea if/when Arkham City GOTY will show up since I believe today is the PC release date?

Also, any chance of The Walking Dead popping back up on sale in the near future? I know you had it for $15 last week (I believe to price match Gamestop's deal) but unfortunately I was too indecisive and regrettably passed on it. Just curious if there's any discount planned some time soon, perhaps as part of a Halloween sale next month.

You wish they would have spent more money and bought the gamecube version than only pay $2.50?

Question as to what you're not feeling?

Lowest price on Max Payne 3 to date: $29.99

Price of the bundle with GTA IV Complete - $24.99

Lowest price on Spec Ops: The Line to date: $24.99

Price of the bundle with both Bioshock games: $19.99

Would the deals be more attractive if they were just the lowest price in the channel to date by $5 but didn't include 1-2 other games?

Cheers,
Tony
Tony where is dead rising 2 for PC deal?

I'd rather have Spec Ops by itself for $10, maybe as high as $15. When you see games bundled together like that you start mentally adding their prices together and wishing you could just grab the one you want at that price. Although it might be possible to trade or sell the extra games you don't want.

Yep we'll have the Walking Dead for 40% off as an upcoming DOTW.

Still working on Capcom stuff.

I hear what you're saying. My point was though that $19.99 is lower than you've seen Spec Ops by itself yet, which is part of the value of the bundle, the extra games are just that...extra.

Cheers,
Tony

Yeah game bundles are a bad deal for people who have been buying games for a long time because typically they already have parts of the bundle already. Prime example is Steam's publisher packages. Like you said the only way it would make sense to buy it is if you could trade off the games individually but in the case it would solve the problem to discount them individually in the first place.

Please post impressions once on how it runs. Thanks.

Okay, got it installed (and added to Steam). Runs fine, silky smooth 60 FPS. Resolution up to 1600x1200. Haven't noticed any screen tearing, but I've been playing windowed (at 1280x1024, monitor is 1080p).

Plays just fine with the 360 controller, but you have to configure it first in the options (don't mess with directions, they're automatically set for analog stick). Camera is L and R triggers, NOT second analog.

As for gameplay, controlling the eggs takes a little getting used to, as you pull away from the egg if you reverse direction. You'll also need to babysit the camera, as it doesn't follow you around (this is a game from 2003, after all). Plays just as smoothly as on the Gamecube, at higher resolution.

Great to hear, thanks for the update!

Added as a non steam game?

Picked up Yesterday, The Next Big Thing, and Runaway, because my wife has been in a point and click adventure mood. They don't register on Steam, apparently, which is a little annoying, but the price is right.

You will need Xpadder or something similar to run Condemned. The triggers don't work properly otherwise I'm definitely enjoying it.

When is the deal on the Sonics going live?

I want the PC version of Sonic Generations so I can mod it and play in class.

:D

If anyone wants it, here's a Steam icon for Billy Hatcher:

Love Condemned. One of my all time favorite games and probably the reason why I'm enjoying Dead Island so much. I guarantee you that the Dead Island devs played Condemned.
