AMD FSR Redstone uses machine learning to achieve parity with Nvidia DLSS

The hint wording there is interesting as it suggests that this is purely a denoiser and not a "upscaler+denoiser" like DLSS RR.

I like that AMD are catching up. I hope they have some cards that can rival the high end future 6000 series so I can have more choices.
I think it's a lucky chance for amd which they should for once in the last two decades be smart about and leap onto. Nvidia is clearly focused on a lot more than graphics currently, they have prioritized AI workloads and because they were so far ahead they were they were still capable of dominating. We don't know how long this window will last, as the AI bubble might burst and Nvidia might pivot focus back.

Amd is just almost catching up and I hope they finally give us a real competitive card with no asterisks*(ray tracing dosent matter, pathtracing doesn't matter, ml upscaling isn't important). No excuses just a real competitive card with equal features, priced aggressively with them finally going for clawing back actual market share instead of being happy to fleece consumers for Nvidia crumbs.
