AMD will officially present RedStone on the 10th of December

AMD previously outlined that FSR Redstone consists of four ML-based technologies: Ray Regeneration, ML Super Resolution, ML Frame Generation, and Neural Radiance Caching.
CoD BO has version 0.9 of Ray Regeneration.
And it seems like it will only be available for the RX9000 series.

I haven't kept up with AMD "rumors" and whatnot. Could they reveal a higher end GPU (e.g. 9080xt) or a new gen soon?

Sometimes we feel like we are existing in the wrong time period, but then stuff like this is happening all the time, making our immediate existence more exiting!

It is a pity that Valve didn't go for the 9060, instead of the 7060m. Then, we would have had a machine that can truly punch above its weight. RDNA 3 is an anchor around the steam machine's neck.

Is this the thing that Microsoft 'magnus' is going to have? And the PS6?
Sure. But that's still 2 years out. We would be getting so much more by then. This is just the start. RDNA 5 has so many improvements to ray tracing and AI that the rendering paradigm might be entirely different after the initial cross gen period.

They couldn't have. AMD doesn't have a custom RDNA 4 solution. It would have needed to be a discrete card which would be a much different proposition for the Steam Machine.

I wonder if neural radiance caching could improve path tracing performance because that is the one thing holding back the 9070xt back bigtime against comparable NVIDIA cards.

I still think there's technology that would or find in the ps6 that won't be in magnus considering sony worked with amd closely on redstone tech
Mark Cerny has specifically stated that everything they have worked with AMD for is meant to used widely for the entire PC ecosystem including Magnus devices. They are standardizing on hardware in order to make porting to PC much easier. The differentiation would come from software like PSSR or the games.
Its gonna be Magnus-ificent.
Easily worth $999. Hoping they have a 40 CU $599 S model as well. Similar to the Xbox Allies.

is AMD ever going to reveal a new high-end graphics card? It seems that they rest on their laurels these days. In the past they had regular conference about new products.

I'll check these out later when I have time to watch. Any tl;dw?

Only saw half of the HU video. Their only problem is that frame pacing is inconsistent.
Image quality is much better than in FSR3.1 in every aspects.
Compared to DLSS4, FSR4 FG has much better image stability with fewer temporal artifacts. But texture detail is significantly better in DLSS, than with FSR4, on the fake frames.
In CP2077, FSR4 FG works almost as bad as FSR3.1. Though this is a game heavily sponsored by nvidia.

The video by Ancient Gameplays talks a lot more about these features, drivers, supported GPUs, etc.
He also noticed that input lag is much lower with FSR4 FG.

BTW, if anyone wants the new dlls to use with Optiscaler, they are here.

The folder where the dlls are is: X:\Kits\FidelityFX\signedbin\

Maybe next generation? There isn't much sense competing in the high-end when NVIDIA has a stranglehold there and ultra enthusiasts only care about that brand. The most money and sales are also in the low-end to mid-range.

There is a sense for customers like you and me. With Nvidia alone at throne they can continue to take outrageous prices for their products. Remember their 3XXX series? They priced it fair because they were afraid of RDNA2.

Thing is a 7900 and 9070 are high end cards. The numbering system doesn't add up to what its was 2 gens ago. a 5090 is an ultra high end card. 5070ti to 5080 are high end. there really is no mid range cards anymore..maybe a plain 5070? anything below that is on the low end.

7900 are 3 years old. 9070 is a midsize chip that is inferior to 7900XTX

From TechPowerUp, question is which DLSS?

In our testing, FSR Redstone ML Frame Generation consistently delivers image quality that is at least on par with DLSS, and in some scenes it actually looks better, particularly around shadows and fast-moving objects.

Quite disappointing, typical AMD.

I don't know why they're making such a big deal out of Redstone, which is basically a rebranding of FSR. The frame generation seems like little evolution from the previous version, ray regeneration is still only in Call of Duty BO7 multiplayer mode, and Radiance caching remains just a promise.

So basically AMD must release high-end products so people can buy the Nvidia ones cheaper. Yeah, that's probably why they don't.

It would be nice to have an option for 5080 alternative. I don't think 5090 equivalent is necessary.

I think we will see this when RDNA 5 releases in say 2027.

The 9070 XT is a damn fine card and I've been happy with most of the games I've been playing since I got it.

But Cyberpunk crashes consistently when FSR and Pathtracing are both turned on, and Oblivion Remastered consistently crashes when Hardware Lumen is on and it's fucking frustrating.
