The higher ratings are because of Gaga. The show isn't very interesting, but she has a presence/has been good.
A friend looks forward to every episode because of her. She just started watching the show because Gaga is in it.

Yep. Though he was right in that she feeds off heartbreak. It's why she killed him. He was no longer hers and she wanted to cause heartbreak to Liz.
I'm honestly surprised she didn't kill Liz as well. But I guess Liz coming forward and still being "loyal" to her gave her a reprieve.

The everything but the kitchen sink approach didn't work and it got silly. It started off well, but then became boring unfortunately.

I don't understand how people can like the monster of the week set up of shows like X-Files but condemn the Asylum series. A lot of sub plots came and went but the main characters had season long story arcs, something that is missing from every other version of American Horror Story.

I wanted to like it and was excited when I got FX and they aired a marathon. I enjoyed the first few episodes, like I had when I'd watched them (and just them) before at a friend's, but then it got silly and convoluted.
I love Monster of the Week shows, but when they're done better than that.

I feel for John and his daughter. His wife is exacerbating his fall along with ignoring their daughter. The countess making enemies of everyone around her. Liz gonna be on the fuck countess bandwagon now with the rest. The murder house tie in was rad. Angela Bassett is smokin hot in this.

Other than the Liz-Countess-Tristan story line nothing else changed except from John leaving the hotel and we all know that wont last
Murder house throwback was nice and I'm always here for more of the maid but everything else was filler and a lot of ass

I wonder if next season will be in another time period. Seems like every other season takes place in a different era.
Also a serial killer dinner with no Albert Fish? Lol
Would have been cool if they casted the actor that played Russell (True Blood) as a vampire since he's in the show.
Great season so far. I like the seasons that take place during present day much better.

Agreed. This was probably my least favorite episode of the season - almost nothing happened outside of an out-of-nowhere love plotline between Liz and Tristian. (and does it even matter that Gaga killed Tristian? Can't he just come back as a ghost?)

That Liz/Tristan opening was a surprise. And then there turned out to be a kind of sweet romantic element? I'm sure this will all end in tragedy but for now it's an interesting new direction for these characters. I don't mind that there was no build up, because I suspect this is going to contribute to a longer arc with the Countess.
I like how Alex has abandoned her moral compass completely and is now totally on board with drugging her husband, lying to her husband, and trying to convince her husband that he's having a psychotic breakjust before coaching those girl ghosts on how to give her husband an actual psychotic break with a surprise blood orgy. On the plus side, her hair looked great.
Someone needs to gif that moment where Liz gives John the hand. "GIRL NO."
Interesting tie-in to Murder House with Bartholomew the monster baby.
Gaga's still killing it. That presence.
Aw shit, Tristan laying down some truth about the Countess reveling in heartbreak. I wonder if...yep, of course she would take that opportunity to destroy Liz. RIP Tristan. Two dead hunks in one episode, what a shame.
Good stuff in this one. We're left with Iris hunting for the vamp kids, Alex taking on a more villainous role and winning the Countess's good graces by retrieving her little monster (lol), John becoming more unhinged and pushing his daughter away by acting like a total nut, Tristan acquiring a softer dimension shortly before acquiring a slash to the throat, and Liz gaining an excellent reason to seek vengeance on Gaga.
I feel like this episode could have been longer, but still, things are moving along. The plot is heading... somewhere. Hopefully toward a satisfying conclusion. So far so good.

Is such a thing even possible? The amount of sexual content was not unusual for a soap or cable drama. The only real difference is we're not used to seeing so much focus on men and trans women.Show too Gay friendly, Ugly Baby, poor Liz

Episode 1 of this season features her a lot. She's great. Episodes 2 and 3 have some good Countess scenes too.
I suppose you might as well watch this whole season. You don't need to have seen the previous seasons to understand the story. It's self-contained.
She's in every episode.

I agree, they've really gone overboard with the amount of sex and nudity this season. FX just needs to let Ryan Murphy release a digital/blu-ray only season that is, like, full on porn so he can get it out of his system. American Horror Story: Porn Studio?
