Can we get her to do all national anthems. So many phone it in or seem like random people they just pulled off the street. She sang her ass off.

Actually got me hype. As opposed to the usual cringing myself to death.

It's going to happen every now and again. This does make it clear Atlanta could use an extra goal scorer though. Maybe a d-mid as well.

Martinez is coming back soon, but I agree that they could use a super sub/second string striker.

I mean, Jones is supposed to be the super-sub. I think they need someone on the wing whose job it is to score lots of goals, like Mike Grella did for NYRB that first season he came over. Just to give them a bit more of a threat from midfield, especially if they're going to play Almiron centrally.

Fabian Johnson is back in training at BMG.

- ESPNFC: MLS in talks with Real Sociedad over Mexico forward Carlos Vela - source
A league source told ESPN FC that MLS is currently engaged in talks with Sociedad to bring Vela to the league, and that 2018 expansion entrant LAFC is among the teams interested. But other MLS sides, including the neighboring LA Galaxy, would also be in the market for Vela if the price is right.

The Spanish club's proposed transfer fee of $10 million could be a sticking point, the source added. According to Transfermarkt.com, Vela's contract expires in June of 2018.

Vela, 28, has long been a target of MLS and its teams, with rumors of mutual interest reaching their peak before the start of the 2016 MLS season.

At that time, the Colorado Rapids, the Chicago Fire, and the San Jose Earthquakes were reported to be chasing Vela, but he opted to remain in La Liga. Now those talks are back on.

- Orlando City, Red Bulls stadiums to host USMNT's last two Hex home matches
Orlando’s new soccer stadium has been friendly to Orlando City, which is 5-0-0 there, and now Orlando will host a big U.S. World Cup qualifier later this year.

SI.com has learned that Orlando is set to host USA-Panama in October, which could be a huge game to see if the U.S. will make it to Russia 2018. SI.com has also learned that the U.S.’s September home World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica is set to take place at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

Getting three points at home in every World Cup qualifier is even more important after the U.S.’s slow start in the CONCACAF Hexagonal. The Americans started the comeback trail in March, thrashing Honduras 6-0 at the San Jose Earthquakes' Avaya Stadium before picking up a road point at Panama to vault from sixth to fourth in the Hex standings.

The next two matches take place in June. Bruce Arena's squad plays at home against Trinidad & Tobago at the Colorado Rapids' Dick's Sporting Goods Park before heading to Mexico's Estadio Azteca to take on El Tri on June 8 and 11, respectively.

The final two home game decisions mean MLS venues will host all five home Hex matches for a second straight World Cup cycle.

Philadelphia Union's Derrick Jones has been given permission to play for the U.S. He had previously played for Ghana at under-15 level.

Goddamned Toledo shitting all over that game tonight. Glad we won, though, Bono saved our ass a few times.

Edwards and Vazquez are both still rock stars, Osorio has earned his spot on the bench, too.

just thought of something. Would Brexit be actually good for our young guys to potentially plan in the UK? Relaxed visa rules?

Probably not. The whole point of it is they want less people coming in. Plus US guys wouldn't be able to take advantage of dual nationality rules to get in anymore.

Makes sense, though. They just played on Wednesday, they play next Wednesday and also next Saturday. TFC also isn't competing with Seattle for a playoff spot.

Play the kids, rest the key players for next week. This game isn't a big deal.
