Thanks for helping to fix their avatar issues that I posted :) I was reading up on it before I fell asleep so, I shouldn't have the issue if I make any others!!

Wave 5 pre-orders are open on Nintendo UK's store. Got my Wario and Charizard pre-ordered

Nothing for the Mario series yet. I want to order my Toad amiibo

Product ordered: Nintendo Amiibo Super Smash Bros - Meta Knight

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Nintendo have again advised us late yesterday, that we will not be receiving this product.

Nintendo has cancelled, due to the high demand and short supply of these products worldwide.

Unfortunately this has led to your order being cancelled, as Nintendo will not be supplying this product.

There was an authorisation placed on your account for the funds and that will be lifted by your bank or payment company in the next 2-5 business days.

On behalf of GameStop, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused at this time.

Just ordered with Argos instead.

I went Amiibo hunting this morning, specifically for Bowser and Lucario. I don't like ordering online because the boxes get damaged easily, my local Toys R Us only had Bowser in stock while Argos sold out after the resellers got to them first.

Luckily, I phoned my local GAME and they had both in for £14.99 which is a fiver more than I was comfortable with, but it couldn't be helped at this point. I pre-ordered a Charizard to avoid faffing around in a months time too. They only had one Lucario in stock while they had a few of the rest on display. I couldn't pre-order Mega Man or Sonic at GAME, so I'll look into those later.

I really hope Mew becomes an Amiibo at some point.

It's weird. In the next three waves (Smash 4, Mario 1, Smash 5), I'm only really getting four of the 17 possible: Sonic, Charizard, Wario and Toad. Huzzah for self control haha.

I am running out of space though

I wouldn't worry about that any more. Since the first couple of waves, retailers now seem to be more sensible with their packaging for Amiibo:

GAME and Nintendo UK also both use individual boxes.

Why don't retailers limit amiibo purchases to one per customer to avoid asshole scalpers walking out with 10 of the same figure?

GAME are only allowing you to buy 1 and Toys R Us only allow for 2. I think only 1 is a bit harsh ( probably because I like to get 2 ) but 2 or 3 is a fair amount I think, especially if you have kids.

I think 3 is the magic number. As you said, it's not unreasonable to sometimes buy 2-3 of the same figure if you have kids.

I believe it's UK only. For the N3DS at least it was. I have mine shipped trough someone else :P
It's indeed UK only...

I'll need to be alert for EU wave 5... I've missed Amazon preorders for wave 4 (and I don't really trust 100% some other online retailers), and wave 3 showed me that I can't trust brick'n mortar retailers anymore to find Amiibos :/

Gentlemen, it's war... When they announced Amiibos, I wouldn't have thought that it would be so difficult. Hunting them in shops can be fun, but refreshing online shops all day long to place a preorder before scalpers hit isn't.

I don't agree to one per customer, but perhaps limit it to three or something, sure.
One per customer of the same item (you can get multiple of different characters) seems reasonable. If you want doubles, go to another store. That's the only way I can think of to combat scalpers other than not buying at bs mark up prices they peddle.

I feel you man, it's damn frustrating.

I really need to keep an eye out for retailers that open reservations for Wario and Charizard. Those two are the ones I want.

Just now ordered a Lucario and Bowser, they'll get here tomorrow. And still on a quest to find Little Mac. The basterd.

I disagree. If you have 2 kids, for example, that both want the same figure.

Actually, a better way to combat scalpers would be for retailers to have stricter return policies. 30-90 days is far too long. It should be a day or two maybe.

Another thing that could be done is places like ebay and Amazon marketplace could prohibit the reselling of preorders and require proof of the physical item.

Seems Pac-Man is down to £10.99 on Nintendo UK now. Weird. He was £12.99 when I slapped my preorder in earlier. Thought it was some 3rd party tax or something. :) Hopefully they will charge the normal price when he does ship.

Yeah it was £10.99 when I pre-ordered it shortly after you. I'm sure they wont charge you the higher price :P

Pre-order price will always be the lower price. It might take a while to adjust it on their systems though.

I don't think it's really correct, though.

It's getting harder to find them in Europe, too. In fact, several stores I visited have said me they wouldn't restock Amiibos soon (and thus won't even put wave 3/4 on sale at all).

Depends...

But I'd say that the rarest one worldwide is Little Mac, and Rosalina will most probably be at least a close second. You can probably buy those at first sight without thinking, there'll be plently of interested people that would be glad to buy those to you (I'm not talking about inflated prices, but to each his own).

The third rarest here is Kirby, the fourth is Villager, the fifth Wii Fit Trainer. But for those, your mileage will definitively vary. I know that some people have troubles with Marth, Pit or Falcon, they're unusual, but not as rare as the first two here.

Should have been this in Europe, but all stores broke the release date, and wave 3 hunt has been awful.

I've found (with a LOT of difficulties) Lucario, Ike, Sheik, Toon Link and Bowser, and managed to get Rosalina shipped, though, so I'm done for this wave. I expect the worse for waves 4/5. Especially since I'm away the days before the wave 4 official date (february 20th).

The only one that seems semi-rare here in Switzerland is Little Mac.

The question is why wouldn't retailers restock? It seems some just don't have the shelf space for a product that doesn't sell. Otherwise they would at least put wave 3/4 on sale.

Anyone have any idea why the Shulk Amiibo is coming up with available for next day delivery on Argos? That's not out yet is it?

Must be an error along with all the other Wave 3 and 4 stuff they have on there. Rosalina now has 2 product pages, the one saying in stock delivery which a lot of us have ordered from doesn't seem like the right one, still expecting them to be cancelled

I actually want to cancel this Argos order now but you have to contact customer services to do so
