Question...should I trade Little Mac for Lucario (I have an online preorder from Toys r Us but no idea if I'll actually get it)...I'm thinking no...but what do you guys think?

Ike and Shulk are not released in the US (and I really do think there might need to be a separate NA and EU/AUS Amiibo thread as there is a ton of confusion as a result of the difference in markets.

Nintendo World released Lucario, Rosalina and Shulk early but they sold out. Shulk is out for Canada right now, and some people already got Rosalina early from Target.com.

K thats what I was thinking...I'd rather see who actually ends up being hard to find since my extra little mac seems to be impossible to find now...
Maybe for OT3, we could do that? Then again, we have some people who import and others who don't mind paying/trading with others in a different region.
We've got less than 1,400 posts until the next OT. What does everything think? Would it limit/separate the community we currently have?

How is Captain Falcon rare? I figured with the amiibo being the smash series that captain falcon would be easiest to find
Here's what I would say are the rarities in the U.S.:
Unicorn (practically impossible to find in the wild; enjoy your eBay scalpers)

Villager
Wii Fit Trainer
Little Mac
Pit
Rosalina (because everyone bought her in the first five minutes of Toys R Us opening today)
Rare (in few stores and in very limited quantities)
Fox
Captain Falcon
Sheik (in Toys R Us only at the moment)
Uncommon (just a few per store; some stores may be sold out, but probably just temporarily)
Toon Link (in Toys R Us only at the moment)
Common (found in every store and in good quantity)
Mario
Luigi
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Bowser (in Toys R Us only at the moment)
Kirby
Samus
Link
Zelda
Pikachu
Diddy Kong
Cockroach-Tier Common (seas of them, as far as the eye can see, infesting every store)

Ah, thanks. I have Shulk and Ike reserved at GS and got confused. I know I'm good with those two but Rosalina is going to be tough. Guess I can calm down now lol.

Basically any character from a non-popular series is rare since not a lot of stock is made of those.
I don't see how Toon Link is rare, though. Toys R Us was full of them last time I was there.
I think the rarity of the amiibo is around the same level of "How well-known is this character when it comes to the general public?" Hence why Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, etc. are rather easy to find, but then Marth, Pit, Little Mac, etc. are much more rare.

They're both probably on a Diddy Kong thing. Uncommon mainly in most parts and then we'll all start to see them easily.

I should sadly note that the Montreal Centreville location on Wave 1, day 1 was at least 60% Wii Fit Trainer. At a glance you would have assumed she was the Peach of that gen :/

It's the holy trinity (Marth, WFT, villager) and the 3 wise men (falcon, pit and Mac) I thought were all hard to find.
I bet it'll be the elusive exclusives for wave 3...
I think Toon Link is definitely a Diddy Kong, but I think Sheik will be pretty rare.

TRU honored my Lucario pre-order card. The guy didn't think they had gotten them yet, but checked in the back for me, and they were there. He actually swapped out the first one he gave me for one of better quality too (the first figure had a bent box and large white scuff mark on the head). Pretty cool. Ready for Target Hell on Sunday.

Nintendo has done just a horrible job of stocking these things.
How long does it take to contract more factories to crank more out? They just severely undershipped some of the less known characters.

Man... not only do Amiibo hunters have to compete with scaplers on Sunday, but you have to compete with just more people in stores buying last minute super bowl junk, food, and such... as well as another winter storm coming to the north east Sunday afternoon and evening...

Hmm, Cap Falcon might be uncommon but it could be my location. I kept seeing Falcon at TRU and other stores pretty frequently.
Watch them stock more and what will happen is they will shelfwarm and they'll still under ship future waves.

Guy said people were lined up at 6am. Turned away a bunch of people when the manager got there. Turned away another 40-50 at store opening. They didnt even bring the boxes out from the back. Guy checked my receipt and told me i was the first one all day to show up with a preorder card.

Not sure if there's anyone else who hasn't received their shopto orders yet but I still haven't got my Toon Link, and sites are either sold out or selling him for double now. Luckily I think I've been able to find him on the Nintendo UK store. Knowing my luck my shopto delivery will come tomorrow... A week later, and I'll be stuck with two of him.

I'm wondering how early I should go for Sunday. No doubt more people are going to come around for Rosalina than Lucario.
I didn't know you could get Shulk, Ike, and DDD in NA outside of the Nintendo World Store yet.Final haul. Rosalina is from Amazon France and the rest are NA. You can't see it from here but my Ike got a derp eyecan't really pick and choose with how uncommon these things are though!
I've not seen any falcon besides the one I bought. And it was the last one on the shelf.
I thought pit was pretty hard too.
Canada can get them, the U.S. can't
