Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

lol 6-10 inches of snow saturday evening to sunday evening in my area

do i dare go out for Rosalina or do i risk it on Monday

i do have monday off

this is a tough choice :(

Also, my Bowser, Toon Link, & Sheik orders shipped from Best Buy earlier today! :D

I scoped out several other stores (TRU = Toys R Us, BB = Best Buy, GS = Gamestop) on my way home and here's what I saw from Wave 3:
TRU1: Nothing
BB1: Nothing
GS1: Nothing
Target1: Nothing
GS2: Bowser
TRU2: Bowser (TONS of them!)
BB2: Nothing
Target2: Nothing

The day wasn't a total loss though!
I found these cool Nintendo plushies:

I got the Mario & Pikmin ones at Target, Mega Charizard Y at TRU, and the other Pokemon at Savers ($2.99 for the pair!).


And then this just sorta happened:

I got Aladdin earlier in the week, found the 3 Marvel figures at Goodwill this morning, and then found a lone Jasmine at Best Buy (is she supposed to be out yet??) & was happy to learn that GCU works on DI figures too! :D
I then decided to pick up Anna, Elsa, & Donald at Target while they were on sale for $10 a pop and wanted to get Stitch as well but they didn't have him in-stock. I stopped by my local Target, grabbed Stitch, and took a quick look at the clearance end-cap where I found the PS4 Starter Pack tagged $20.09!! :D
I didn't plan to buy DI and I'm still only going to buy figures of my favorite characters, but I couldn't pass up the game bundle at that price. :)

Wow this thread blew up on some collector or scalper stuff huh? It isn't my business what an individual does if he buys one and may sell it down the road. That seems way better than buying all he or she can find and flipping them while they are hot. That being said I sold 2 Capt and 2 Pits to Amiibros on here for cost and shipping. If I could know for sure I would prefer they went to people that were planning to open and use them. However I did not ask and trusted that no one on here would take advantage of a GAF hookup only to turn around and profit off it. I would be lying if I said that wouldn't bother me.

As For Byron taking some shit I don't know it doesn't feel right. he is an active part of the community and it sounds like he is showcasing them in his man cave. No shame there man. Though I remember him asking a lot (sometimes once a page) in the first OT for people to send him figures to the border so he could get ones that were impossible to find in Canada. I could see how some would be upset if he turned around and sold those figures that people may have went out of their way to get to him.

That's my thoughts on this. Just being honest.

That being said I have my Lucario I need to get from TRU. Probably should have went today but was busy. Really hope he is still waiting on me tomorrow.

Dang, you can find DI stuff at some Goodwills? Time to check that out for sure.

My wife always says this to me when I point out how much something is worth. I tell her if i ever kick the bucket, then you'll know which ones are worth something.

My Bowser and Toon Link from Best Buy that shipped today will arrive on February 2nd.

So far so good on that front Best Buy. If they arrive in a box it will be a 10/10 experience.

Anyone with a Sheik ordered from Best Buy have it ship yet?
 
It's strange that Nintendo made Lucario rare. He's a pokemon. Characters in that franchise (especially the ones chosen for smash) are going to sell more than characters like Peach, Samus and Donkey Kong even if they are common.
 
Amiibo pics doesn't do justice to how they look in real life. In real life they look even more awesome and detailed. It's there when you have the urge to buy them all.

My Bowser and Sheik shipped today for a Monday delivery. My Toon Link shipped separate today for another Monday delivery. I need wave 4 to go up for pre order from Best Buy.

Hnnnnnnghhh <3!!!! I didn't know about Link's tunic texture. Excellent photos and now I'm mad because I want both of them but at this point I think is easier to get Nintendo to localize Mother 3 than buying Shulk without pre-order.
 
So I went to the Toys R Us near me around 6pm tonight and asked about the Lucario amiibo. The employee told me that they are not selling them until February 1. I asked him if they had any other amiibos besides the ones out on the floor. He went to the back to go check and came back empty handed. He even said that they don't have any of the Lucario amiibo in stock right now. I said hopefully they'll get them in tomorrow and he said he hopes that too. So I guess I'll try again on Sunday morning? It also makes me think that Toys R Us hasn't sent anyone emails about shipping the Lucario amiibo because they're planning to do it on Monday. So we'll see...
 
I pre-ordered Shulk but EBGames told me my unit wouldn't be available for pick-up till February since they didn't get enough in the first batch ;___;

So I went to the Toys R Us near me around 6pm tonight and asked about the Lucario amiibo. The employee told me that they are not selling them until February 1. The more I see those plastic, clear parts holding the characters up, the more I wonder how Duck Hunt is going to look like on the grounds the duck is flying, so there's most likely going to be a rod or something connecting the dog & duck together.

The clear plastic will be on the dog to hold up the duck. It'll look so ugly.
And we'll still buy it.

Man, a part of me wants the Duck Hunt Amiibo down the road, but I don't know if my mind and wallet will be burned out by the time he comes. Too many questions and not enough answers. When will it all end?!
