So, today while I was waiting outside Toys R Us to open, there was a line of about 5 other guys and me waiting. We all started to talk about amiibos and, in specific, the Super Mario line.
The consensus seems to be that everyone will just buy Toad of the announced, and if released, Waluigi and Daisy. So pretty much every character who is not featured in Super Smash Bros.
So this got me thinking, Are you guys and gals planning on buying the Super Mario line?

Well they don't charge you now. Only in March. But I agree it's not worth freaking out over. I was going to buy the game anyways, so it's nice to get that Amiibo. I agree that these Amiibos packaged in won't be rare.

Just Toad. I would've preferred a Captain Toad Amiibo though.
I'll get another Rosalina if they make another one. But yeah, I only want Toad and the ones that aren't in Smash. The Smash line has better poses and better art styles. I just got the Mario one because it was bundled with the game, and I was going to get the game anyways.

I want Toad, Luigi, and Peach. I didn't get the Smash versions of those two yet, and I think the Super Mario versions look way better!

Well that seems to be the popular consensus. I am only grabbing Toad from what they announced. Mario looks generic as hell and funny enough is the Amiibo that is on all the games as an icon. Wish they would have went fire power or something. I actually like Luigis pose better than his Smash one but I am not double dipping. Bowser looks damn near the same. Why couldn't we get Daisy instead of Peach this time?

Trinity arrived from Amazon.de! Now have both waves complete and wave 3 preordered (save Rosalina). The three were packaged all together in one small box with no cushion, and the box itself was pretty banged up. All the figures are great, but their boxes had some bent edges. No big deal for me since I planned on opening but just a heads up for others.
Can you remove Fox from my list of needs on the doc? Got one today from Frys.

I like the potential of non smash poses. Luigi looks better in the SM line, so I'll replace him. Bowser looks close, but I'm kind of leaning towards the SM line one as well.

Out of the Super Mario line, I'll likely just get Toad, but I'm thinking about what I'll do for other repeated characters. If it's like the rest of that line and just basic characters then I'll just stick with the Smash Bros. version I have. However, if they make variations of them, like say a Captain Toad or Wooly Yoshi, then I'll probably get them too because they're different and are for different games. Same thing if they did a full Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem set.
Holy shit. That's way better than my wildest hopes for amiibo sales...

I might skip that line for now and just focus on the Smash Amiibos. Although, searching for a pixel road in every level is intriguing.
Apparently I really under-estimated the amiibo thirst. Walked into Toys R Us and said they got 300 of Falcon and Pit (around 300 ea iirc) in the morning and were gone within an hour. I don't live in a big town either, just Metro Detroit. At this rate I will never see a Pit amiibo because of work.
Also according to the guy I was talking to in the store some dude called up and asked for 14 falcons.
