Amiibo Discussion Thread 3: Fuck Nintendo's manufactured scarcity bullshit because some of the shit we've seen with Amiibo disappearing off the face of the planet as well as stores like Toys R Us cancelling pre-orders and reopening sales in the dead of night to fuck customers is just utter utter gibberish nonsense.

Although I don't think that title will fit so.

Yanno the day amiibo were released I went to Best Buy to check them out in person and they had a few Marths and Wii Fit Trainers on the shelf. I still don't want Marth (waiting for Lucina), but I really regret not picking up WFT back then. Oh well.... :(
 
So my Amazon.de package arrived today, much earlier than the expected 16-21 date.

Opened it up and everything is in perfect condition:

Alright, I've added the people that PMd me their email. If you weren't added, then PM me your email again (if I missed it).

Feel free to edit anything on it. If you guys feel the categories should be different, or the formatting should changed. I'm kind of a noob with these documents. Anyone that is added to the private google doc can edit (so you can change things).

Should I link to the Google Doc in this thread? I don't know how you guys want to do this. If I link to it, anyone can look at it. But only the people that have been added, can actually edit and put their info down. So I'll let you guys decide if you want to link the document in here, or post it in OP.

Lastly, in the Amiibos needed section, at the beginning of your list make sure to put (JP), (US), or (EU). Only list it once. If you put nothing in front, then we assume you are okay with all versions. Same goes for people listing their extra Amiibos/dupes, please let the person know which Region it is (as that matters to some collecting the box).

Let me know what you guys think.

Holy god, now that is a document. Didn't even know you could do all that. Wow. If anyone knows how to edit documents to look this nice, or to format it, let me know. Like I said, I'll add anyone so they can edit anything. Just let me know. But the AmiiboGAF doc could def use some sprucing up.
 
My Pit from Japan showed up today along with a bunch of famicom games. Packing for him wasn't great but he showed up much earlier than forecasted. I'm happy to say his paintjob is great. Much like Captain Falcon he looks much nicer in person. Very happy with how he turned out.
 
Also, as far as adding Wave 3 Pokemon to the google doc list, I ask that you don't list the ones that you have pre-orders of. I only listed the 4 exclusives, since I didn't get any of them. If you have NONE of them pre-ordered, maybe it's best to just wait until after they are release, and you figure out which ones you don't get. Might be a bit ridiculous to list 11 + amiibos missing.

OR...only put down the ones you 100% want. Like more then anything.
 
Okay, to THOSE that want to edit the AmiiboGAF document (the actual formatting of the document, and not just adding info), I have to set your status to "owner" of the document. So PM me if you want to edit the document on that level. Just PM me with your email, and I'll switch that at any time (again, only for those that want to help organize and edit the actual documents formatting).

Everyone else should be able to add info and edit when I add you. Someone sent me a PM saying they can't edit. So please let me know if that is happening to you as well. The list so far shows everyone can edit. So not sure why that is. But I want to know if it's an issue for more then one person.
 
Welp, my Pit order on Amazon Canada just got cancelled. Not only do I now have to find him through other means, but it also doesn't make me very optimistic that my Ike pre-order will go through either.

If the Toys R Us Jan 15th thing is real, and they are getting Pit and Falcon in on that day. I'll make sure to set aside one of the extras just for you (for free). I was going to go down there on my birthday (if it's real and they really are selling them then), to get some extra ones for AmiiboGAF that is missing them.

But since you need it (and you got your order cancelled) I will look out for you.
 
Even though my marth from amazon is fucked, somehow, my fox from Frys is shipping!!!!!. A complate collection is inbound.

Ill post pics of the amazon.de order later if i feel up to it. The top of the card is like peeling and looks like someone tried to open it or something.

I know people are telling me to get over it but honestly, I want the boxes to look nice. I may open them, but if i do, i keep the boxes in working and good condition. This looks like it got wet and started peeling. Its upsetting.

I'd be just as upset. That's pretty poor form for a company of any caliber. It doesn't matter if you're just shipping a tiny little pin, you should always make sure it's secure so that damage can't occur. Sorry man. =/

I appreciate it. I'll try to keep looking on my end to see if I can get one myself but considering that I'm in Canada, I'm not expecting a restock from any store.

Huh, well how about that. I honestly didn't expect that to ship. Looks like I have an extra Fox now, one to open and one to keep sealed! Shipped today. Strangely enough I didn't get an email notice.
 
Okay, I figured out a common factor. Every person that has told me they can't edit the google document, are yahoo email. Does Google Doc not allow other email's outside of gmail, to edit docs? I set it so they can edit. But for some reason, it's not letting them. WTF.

This is in the Help section on the google site: "Documents and spreadsheets: If they're published, or accessed by invitation, anyone can view them without a Google Account."

Seriously? WTF Google. Smh. I didn't know this. So if you want to be added to the AmiiboGAF doc to edit, you need a gmail account. If you don't have one, and don't want to make one, then please PM me the following:

And I'll add that to the document for you. I'm really sorry about this. Had no idea Google docs were like this. Really weird design.
 
Man, Rosalina is going to be the death of me. I have preorders for everyone else besides her. :( Hopefully, I can get lucky with her at launch like I was with Villager and WFT.

Damn. I was going to try GS on release. I don't have a pre-order, as I got into collecting late. I'm not that hopeful about getting one then.

I did place an order for the Japanese version on Nin-Nin games. So let's hope that works. I wish Amazon international would ship to my address.

EDIT: don't even see Shulk on Amazon.de or France. RIP
