Ah, thanks so much. I am still new to this so I have all the spreadsheets and google docs open all the time. This is like a guilty pleasure. I should have actually gone with my instinct when they first announced to buy them all as I knew Nintendo making figurines was something special lol
 
Do the Walmart Neighborhood Markets sell amiibos??? I just checked on Samus (just to see how the pickup thing works) and it said I could pick it up at an address that is a Neighborhood Market... I would never even think to check there because I thought they were grocery-only.

EDIT: To be clear, to get it at the Market, I would have to buy online, then could pick it up on January 28th. So maybe they don't necessarily have them in the store, but you can pick up an online order there.

I just was at a Neighborhood Market the other day because I wanted to check and they had no toys, electronics, or amiibos. Which is weird, because their site even said there was an electronics section. In terms of in-store pick up they probably do that though.

Welcome! All Amiibo are exactly the same figure-wise, only the packaging is slightly different. US has "6+" at the top right, EU has "No. # CHARACTER NAME" at the top right. Japanese ones obviously have japanese writing. Basically, if you open the figures, it won't matter at all.

Shipping is cheaper the more you buy at once. On average if you buy the figures at $12.99, you'll be paying around $18-22 USD total per figure.

My suggestion is: try to get the ones you actually WANT first. If you try to get all the amiibos right out the gate, you're in for a stressful time (most of this thread is proof of that lol). Unless of course, with Marth getting a rerelease, Nintendo does the same for the other now rare amiibos.

I checked out as a guest but when I went to cancel, they want you to log into a GAME account to check your order status / shipping / see the cancel button. And registering a GAME account requires a valid UK Postal code and address. So when you cancel from them you need to e-mail them and wait a few days, you can't just permacancel it in 2 seconds.

Yeah I think I will just wait for the NA pre-orders, and if Amazon EU gets them first I will pre-order there since it is easier.

Kind of expensive. You can usually get one amiibo for $28 US. But when you buy a few the shipping isn't so bad per amiibo. Buy 3 or 4 and the price drops down to about $20 per amiibo. I bought 5 the other day and it came to about $18 a piece. (I canceled that order though since I got some amiibos elsewhere).
 
If anyone from MexiGAF is watching the thread.... how are you guys planning to get Wave 3 Amiibo?

I don't see Metaknight, Mega Man, Sonic, Shulk or Dedede available for preorder anywhere.
 
Are these things seriously becoming the most impossible things to find?

I want sonic and mega man, im gonna get Ness, i already have toon link preordered. I want the entire mario bros collection. and I need a DK.

That is so much money on these little figurines!

That ain't nothing sadly. Some of us have already spent $377+ for the first 29 figures. Not to mention having to preorder from multiple retailers just to ensure we get at least. Dang it

wanna trade lucario for pit, falcon, or metaknight? i have a few preordered but don't know if i'll pick them up, but if you wanna trade i'll at least grab one.
 
May have been posted but I didn't see it - Amiibo sales numbers at or near 2 million for 2014? From Digital Spy (because I can't access most other news sites at work, but it's being reported everywhere...)

In addition, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros for Wii U sold over 1.7 million physical and digital units and 1.3 million physical and digital units, respectively, in 2014 in the US.

Meanwhile, Nintendo says that total sales of its amiibo figures in 2014 are nearly twice the sales of Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

By my math, if Amiibo sales are nearly twice Smash Bros. sales that puts them right around the 2 million mark... not bad for a toy many here predicted would flop.

Thanks. I actually just placed an order at BestBuy for a Fox, Link, Samus, and Mario since they are some of my favorites and after my $10 rewards, it came out to be $33. I was very disappointed to see all the others were pretty much sold out since I really wanted quite a few more. REALLY want a Shulk, Megaman and Rosalina so I am going to try on the 1st to go EVERYWHERE lol.
 
I should have grabbed Lucario from Amazon.fr also. At least I can look forward to going on a hunt at TRU. I do have two of the pre-order cards but who knows how they actually hold them.

Lucario is suppose to go up for sale on toyrus.ca Feb 6th. If I can't snag him, I'll pm you. Would easily do Falcon for Lucario if my attempt online falls through.
 
I still can't believe I missed out on that Fox. That makes it 3 times this week. :(

Hopefully that new Star Fox game means some restocking but until then I will continue the hunt!

Awesome to know they ship it nicely. I just ordered from Amazon.de last night for someone on here that needed Marth to complete their collection.

I'm out of the doctors and heading home. Did we ever get a solid release date for Wave 3 in store?
 
Thinking about buying some foam to cut out holes for my Amiibos to sit in when I set them up on the shelf. Not sure what I should look for though, any ideas or suggestions?

edit: Also, has anyone heard anything about the B&H orders a week back? My villager still is listed as back ordered and I'm not too confident in actually getting one from them. Are there any options to get Villager in NA besides importing over seas or ebay?

edit: also Azula, if it's not too much effort, could you add some transparency to my Lucina avatar? Might be weird since I think some of her hair blends in with the black background
 
Bought Mario, Kirby, and Yoshi today at TRU (since they're doing $10 off $40 or more on amiibo, Skylanders, and Infinity stuff). So that leaves Pikachu as the only amiibo I don't currently own.
 
I have made the post that suggests that Wave 3 releases on February 1.

I was at TRU yesterday, and the employee told me that they do not have Captain Falcon or Pit. However, he told me he has a ton of boxes in the back that are labeled 'February 1.' I encourage all of you to take this with a grain of salt. I would keep an eye out starting the 1st, though.

I think at this point it's a more a safe bet than anything. Someone mentioned that a TRU employee told them they had boxes with the date Feb 1 on them so it's pretty likely. Anything official is still up in the air.

Someone posted that some stores already have boxes that say not to sell the contents until Feb 1.

Ugh, why did you have to say the actual number? What is wrong with me? I'm hesitant to buy a new 3DS but I'll happily spend almost $400 on plastic toys?! I need to get my priorities straight. What's more important, the interactive videogames or the toys that barely do anything from said videogames?

At my local Target the lady who handled the electronics area was super cool and very familiar with the amiibos. She was really nice and said i could "bother" her every day to try and get Rosalina. I'll probably try to reach out to her and see if I can get confirmation

I had the same experience with a GameStop employee when I was inquiring about Shulk. Even gave me their number so they could call me when they have them in stock and if they carry any extra. Just goes to show if you're nice to someone they'll return the favor. :)
