Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

Ah. I'm so confused tbh. So Shulk is Feb 20th even for the US? So wtf is Feb 1st? Just like 6 of Wave 3? So they split the wave in two halves? Feb 1st/ Feb 20th? Is that correct? Need to know which day to go to the store.

Strange enough, my gamestop pre-orders list everything else Feb 1st.

EDIT: oops, i guess no one knows yet, we are all just assuming Feb 1st. Insane we are getting so close, and we don't know. Nintendo is crazy for not communicating this info at all. Wow.

I went to talk to 3 of my local GS managers to try to get a concensus on this.
Manager basically said everything in there system points to availability on the 1st but others on the 15th.
What they each concluded was that everything online will be available ordered in store or otherwise on the 1st and everything else on the 15th.
So obviously another one of the managers(each one interested in collecting them) said about other store exclusives they can't say.

So I'm going to back to Target to talk to our Rep there again next Friday the 23rd (when our South-East Rep will be back again) and ask about the situation there again. She is a pretty cool rep. and would probably answer most/all of my questions....

Hah, wow. Just wow. Guess the closer it gets to the 1st, HOPEFULLY we will know for sure. But jesus. lmao

So paranoid. meh god. I hope my nin-nin games Wave 3 exclusive pre-orders ships soon. I know Rosalina comes out early in Japan. So if they send it out to me early, then I can not be as stressed as I have the rest of Wave 3 pre-ordered.

I know you said you will look for Rosalina for me in the store. In the off chance my Japan order does go through, I'll still pay for any Extra exclusives anyone gets for me. And you can just give them out to anyone here that needs it, or to someone you know that needs them. But I'll pay regardless.

I really appreciate people looking out for me. You guys don't know how much collecting these mean something to me. They are more than just collecting, they truly make me happy and keep my mind off the remission/ptsd stuff. I look at my display unit, and am reminded of my happiness and it helps me move forward with my cancer stuff.

So words can't express what it means to know you guys are looking out for me. It's why I have no issue buying anyone on here Amiibos they are missing (like I did with Marth recently). Because I want to give back, and make people happy the way you guys make me happy. The way having these collected, makes me happy. :D

I do apologize if I ever come off as over-emotional. It can be a bit much. But it just means more than you guys know. IN a way, this community and collecting Amiibos, has helped save me. It's truly helped me get through my emotional pain. It keeps my mind off of things, and allows me to focus on being happy (which helps me move forward). So I promise to dial back the emotions as time goes on. But I appreciate you guys putting up with it.

Wish I could hug everyone or thank every single one of you. You guys are basically my family, when my own family left me.

Where did you order the Marth, Azula?
 
Hmmm, could be nothing but a friend of mine told me someone mentioned that they saw 'some' Mac's at a Target. 'Friend of a friend' talk but it's better than nothing. Guess that's where I'm going. :P

I'd like to join the amiibo avatar trend if someone would like to do mine. Proud to represent!

Amazon.de. They had them for 14 Euro, which was $20 US (supplied by Amazon itself/prime). So they basically have them for retail. It cost me $30 after International shipping. Which isn't the most ideal. I know $30 is too much for some. But I would rather pay that, then some scalper on Ebay. And it's actually cheaper then scalping.

Although TBH, I would have paid any price to help out kierwynn. I consider her my friend. She's been so nice and kind tot me. And has showed me that she's willing to help other people out here too. And so I was willing to do whatever it took to help her complete her collection. So it was totally worth it to me. :D

I hope Nintendo follow through with the amiibo trading cards idea. I'm more into the packaging artwork than the figure itself and I'd rather have an album of beautiful cards, than a hoard of trinkets taking up space*, from both a financial and aesthetic perspective.

*unless you have the detolf/staircase/LED combo or similar.

I like the toys a lot, but there are definitely some franchises where cards make a lot of sense, and would definitely be easier to manage. Both pokemon and fire emblem come to mind as good fits for cards.

Edit: animal crossing would work really well with cards, too, but t villager toys akin to the pokemon rumble nfc toys are too perfect.

Yeah...$30 after shipping for an Amiibo. =/ But I mean, I think that's the reality when you are importing over seas. It sucks. But I still think it's better than paying scalper prices which for Marth, can be $65-70. And it also supports a shitty business practice. I'm surprised you can basically get him for retail on Amazon.de Even if it ends up being $30 after shipping.

Butt like I said, I was willing to pay anything to help my friend out. That also applies to everyone else in this thread. If someone is really serious/passionate about completing their collection, I WILL do whatever is in my power to make that happen.
 
Yeah I know that people here are really in for collecting, but if any spare Villagers are floating around for less than the scalper price, I really want to make my fiancee happy with one. So I appreciate some heads up if there's any news on him (though, I'm sure a lot of you will be looking for your own reasons).

I'll look out for one for you. If you can wait, I'll buy you one in Feb off Amazon.de or whatever. Will only be like $40 prob. But yeah, money isn't an issue for me. And because it's for your fiance who really wants it, I'll do what I can to help you. I just ask that, you don't try to pay me. I don't need the money. So I would rather just buy and ship it for free.

Just pay it forward. Like if anyone else ever needs help, just help them. That's all I really ask. But yeah, if no one can get you one by Feb, I'll get it for you. Don't worry. :)

Yeah there's no way I'll get a Villager of ebay. I've already dumped everything into pre ordering Wave 3, and I had already decided that Marth and Villager were out of reach. But now it seems I might be able to obtain one, but I know if I just keep putting it off it's only going to get more expensive and harder to find.

And...pre-orders went up on EB Games Australia. And I think GAME UK. And some other places. They haven't gone up in the US or other regions. We have no info one when Wave 4 pre-orders go up.

Words cannot express how greatful I am. I'll keep an eye on my B&H order in case by some miracle it goes through, that way you can pass on the Villager to someone else who needs it. I am glad they reissued Marth for Codename STEAM so I'm not worried about him.

I've currently got 2x Shulk, Ike, Lucario and Meta knight on pre order. If they all go through I'll def spread the love

The box it came in was a bit banged up but no damage at all to the packaging.
 
So I've been out and about today, but got a chance to follow a GAME UK link some of you guys posted and put in an order for some Wave 4 figures. The whole thing looks so incomplete and unofficial, it makes me worry if it will go through okay to the end, or if something will go wrong :(
 
I think i'm going to use the Amiibo day to explore Pittsburgh. Its the first day right after my move, and since i have nothing pre-ordered and want to get as many as possible, the 1st is just gonna be me wandering around the city, trying to obtain all the wonders i can.

If i had an order, it would be Lucario>Shulk>Rosalina>Meta-Knight, but i'd like to get them all (plus the other wave 3s i don't have pre-ordered)
 
Ok guys 5/8 GS Managers working at all nearby local gamestops have all said:

WAVE 4 will be available for preorder MONDAY!

I've been driving around to different stores all day and as I've said before they are all minutes apart from each other.

Has anyone else seen or heard this anywhere? Call to ask lets get a consensus on this mess.
