Stop obsessing. You don't need every one. You don't even need a majority. Get the ones you want, and if they're hard to come by, oh well. As a figure collector, and one who only collects one line (much like Amiibos), I'm begging for your sanity to just let it go.

you know what, this was my exact mentality going into it. then somewhere between wave 1 and 2, i lost my mind. completed wave 2 and missing 2/3 of the trinity as well as peach for wave 1. pre ordered all of wave 3 except for the 3 exclusives. really have no interest in shulk, but will try to get lucario and rosalina.

Meta knight is also exclusive, to best buy.
 
Well, I decided to hold off on a big display case for the time being. I'll probably revisit it in the coming months. I just swung by another Walmart (bleh) and all they had was:

1x Kirby
2x Samus
1x Peach
2x Luigi

The Peach had torn packaging. Monsters. -_-

Damn. I only want Toad from the Mario Party games. But Amazon.jp requires a third party shipping company. Wish they would ship directly to the US. Do we know when Amazon US will have pre orders for the road bundle!?

They charge immediately with Paypal, like most places, but if you use a credit card they only charge at dispatch. However some items (including this one) have a note on the page saying "Once bought, this item cannot be cancelled or returned" - they do this for some items (usually high demand ones) so you wouldn't be able to cancel.

I gotta say this is one of the most helpful communities I've seen in a quite awhile.Pay it forward is a thing being kind is infectious.I've decided from this day forward every amiibo I preorder or buy at a store i will get at least two one for me and one for da homies.
 
I would be all over that if Nintendo didn't have region locking *grumble grumble*

Toad is probably my favorite Mario character. I've been waiting to get Captain Toad on Wii U until the amiibo releases.
 
How I wish there was enough supply cause I'm really torn I of course am getting them to use and display.However on the other hand I have many collectible figures in the box and would love to keep one of each in its original packaging.

And Adam someone is selling one for $35 alas its outta my price range.

Yeah, I would really like one - but I don't want to go over $20. But I guess that's pretty unreasonable.

So, I guess I won't get one. Oh well, I REALLY like the Little Mac character in the game. I don't care for collecting purposes, just be nice to have. I just really hope that I get Mega Man and Toon Link. I'll be sad since those are the two characters I've wanted since day one.


EDIT: What are my options for odering internationally? I've read in this thread that people are doing that. Is the cost reasonable? I know it's been posted many times, but this thread moves too fast to follow.

You're being somewhat facetious, but you're really not wrong. That's why I don't understand why you guys are in such a frenzy over getting preorders when they're frequently and repeatedly canceled. There won't be only enough Amiibos for preorders; stores are gonna get these in stock on shelves, too. I'd rather just get them that way. It's more fun from a hunting aspect, anyway.

I'm not even concerned about release dates. I know people will report on the Internet immediately when a store gets them in stock or is about to get them in stock. No stress.

I partially agree with you but considering Nintendo has a really nasty habit of running items on short supply, I think that adds to the panic. If this where any other company handling this I would just sit back and wait.

That and when they say "Limited" they usually mean it.
 
I've started using a pretty handy tool to track my Amiibos (we use it for software development at work too). It's called Trello!

I find it easier to work with than a spreadsheet, you can assign people to the cards and assign labels to the cards.

Maybe we should make a collab board?

Heh, nice. We use Trello at work, too. Keeps track of projects and who is working on them at any given time.

Yeah, NOA is becoming a real meme in and off itself at this point for how poorly they handle things. Plus their communication is exceptionally poor much of the time. When they're not having a specific planned event, like Treehouse Live, NOA is a black hole down which all hope and life disappear.
 
So I took a different route home today and spotted a Gamestop that I've never been to before. Went in and of course they gave me the usual, "We don't know when they'll be available for pre-order." for wave 4.

BUT they were sure that Shulk will be available on Feb 1st. Now I'm not sure what to think! I do know that my plans for the 1st will not be changing.
