How many sites are you monitoring? My current setup is checking Best Buy, Target, and Gamestop for any new Amiibo related items. If it finds one, it'll (a) open a browser window to those results on the machine I'm running it on...(b) Play the FF7 victory theme...(c) Send me an email...(d) And the email will play the Super Mario theme.

Tried monitoring Amazon, but it's a bit trickier.

Btw how familiar are you with NFC? Ive been messing with a pi, arduino, and an nfc reader to see i can do anything with the amiibo.
with an end game of seeing if its possible to modify anything at any level with the data they write to the console or even create clones.

Not Very. Thought about picking up a reader just to clone them. Want to build custom Amiibo keychains without destroying Amiibos for their chips.

So excited to get my Wave 2 (JP) amiibos on Thursday! Bummer that I have to wait until next month for Shulk, but at least I've got him pre-ordered. :D

Ha Nice I currently watch gamestop and target rosalina page I have done anything to try to make it more robust yet. But yeah im interested in how it writes data to the console and what else could be sent with it. Id love for homebrew to be ablw to access Wii U features :) playing nintendont on gamepad in my room is a dream :)

Just make sure you turn your other notifications off! I set my nowinstock alerts up on Thursday night then I got pumped when I heard an alert come from my phone in the middle of the night... until I realized it was a new follower from Twitter :(

Thinking you could create a buffer-overflow or something using the data sent from the NFC chip? Possibly, but that really isn't in my wheelhouse. I'm more of the "analyze the entirety of the internet" kind of programmer. Currently working on something that'll search the Amiibo subreddit for new gamestop.com, bestbuy.com, or amazon.com links and email hem directly to me.

Oh cool you should make an official app when you get it done :). It would definitely rest alot of minds here for sure lol.
But yeah I definitely think its possible one of my friends has done alot more research than I have but he says its probable. We plan on working on it after we graduate in May. (Both comp engineering students)

whats the track record for play asia on this type of stuff? Do they always deliver? Chances of cancellation? Ive only ordered a handful of stuff from there? Also is it easy to cancel if I get a Rosalina locally on the 1st?

Just preordered US Rosalina off of Play-Asia and it came out to $33.89 after shipping. Don't wanna be bothered going hunting for her. My luck she'll be super common now that I bought her. Have I no sanity left?

I'm not sure -- I've never actually ordered anything from there before :/ I just wasted a buttload of money pre-ordering them, but I still plan to head out to the stores on release day(s) to find extras to help everyone (or replace them if they turn out looking like junk).
 
I got my first 2 Amiibo last week (Zelda and Kirby!) and I have 3 more (Yoshi, Link and Peach) waiting in my Amazon cart. Excited to get on board! I'll probably be picking up 4-5 Amiibo a month and I'm looking forward to completing the collection at some point in the future :)
 
Man, The fact that amiibo's are so rare is really frustrating me. I really ony wanted to collect my main's but I'm doubting I will be able to without breaking the bank. Been trying to pick a captain falcon for under 25 on eBay but no luck so far. Really hoping to be able to pick up DeDeDe with the next release wave and Ganondorf and I'll be done with amiibos
 
So the 1st is confirmed for Wave 3? Hopefully Best Buy doesn't screw me on my Metaknight then because my in store pick up order still says "12/31/15"

I think as much as collecting Amiibos has made me happy, I've put too much on it that it feels bad that I just missed out on the one thing I've been worrying about.

I think I'm just going to stop collecting. Accept I won't be able to get everything, so stop stressing over it. It's really dumb Nintendo has made these so difficult to get. Gah.

Didn't see anything special when I went out, ended up finding a used Disney Infinity Black Widow at EB and picked one up!

I gave up on the idea of buying them all long ago but the decision was made easy in that I have very little desire for many/most characters. When I do finally get Rosalina, I will name her Azula. And she will be the best damn fighter ever.
 
On the fence whether I want to preorder the new 3DS. I have stuff to save for but I really want one. The bundles with MM3D and the Skull Kid figure are too tempting, plus there's the amiibo support instead of having to get the attachment (depends how many games get amiibo support though...)

I'm sure it's been confirmed before the Skull Kid figure isn't an amiibo, but how amazing would it be if it actually was :O
