Sorry if it's been asked, but what's up with release dates for Wave 3? Are they going to be all over the place on a store-by-store basis again like Wave 2?

I ask because I got e-mails from Walmart saying:

Sheik - Feb 6
Ike - Feb 20

I'm 23 and my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy over all that Amiibo stuff but I keep telling her our future children will like it hehe.

23, senior college student, single, lookin' for amiigal buying them with the full intent of my gamer self and fits with the rest of my room. Probably will take an updated pic of my amiibo collection once Peach, WFT, and then hopefully Marth & Fox arrive.

32, Wife, 2 kids (5 year old and 1 year old) good job and spoil myself and my family way too much. I have them all so far, and i am only missing Sonic of wave 3.

Was aiming for IT or Computer Science, but this semester, I'm giving Communications/PR a go, so that might be my new major & then making perhaps IT or CPS my minor so I can still work at some tech or hopefully game company. All depends on how well I do this semester.

Amazon.it cancelled my

Sonic
King Dedede
Mega-Man

preorders and gave me a 5€ discount voucher instead.
I'm so fucking disappointed, sob, Mega-Man and King were my top two most wanted Amiibos since the beginning together with Samus and Ness.

I'm furious :( I thought I had those on lock, I could've just reserved them at GameStop like I did for Shulk and Meta Knight if I knew it in time.
Third time Amazon screws with me in just a few months, first it was Bayo First Print Edition on Amazon.fr which cancelled my order without even giving me a discount voucher and shit, then Diddy coming in a destroyed package and now this. Why. :(

YES!!!!!

FUCK YOU AMAZON!!!!!!!

Guys, I'm so fucking happy right now ^_^

Also, I'm 37 years old and 10 years member on GAF

31, married, no kids. My wife is just as big of a gamer as I am, which makes things like games and memorabilia really easy to pull the trigger on. I'm only buying the Amiibo I want, but that still means I'll end up with a bunch of them.

Cool we have the same goals :) im 26 graduating in May.

Should I buy a Rosalina (EU) with the only purpose being of using it for trades later down the road?
I can still get her, don't care for the character tho and I've given up in getting all Amiibos since there's too many that look like crap and I don't want them on my shelf.
I can also find Pit (EU) but it would cost me €20 (fucking shipping expenses), but I've got him already. Here in EU the rarest Amiibo is by far Little Mac.

So do you think there's gonna be enough demand for Rosalina (EU) so that I could use her for an Amiibo I might not be able to find myself?
I'm convinced that with Mario Party 10 the figure will get a reprint down the road.

My Toon Link shipped from GAME! Surprised it went this early.

23 here, my Amiibo collection drives my mum insane, she thinks I'm childish. I don't care :)

Good day amiibros! I've been out of the loop for the past 18 hours or so. I see that nothing substantial has happened as far as pre-orders... :(

Anyone over 30 buying Amiibos?? I have no kids to have an excuse to buy them... 😁😁😁

35, married, 1 kid. I have no problem telling the sales clerk that I'm buying these for myself as well as my son. Heck, I'm probably the most excited when we get one! ^_^

20 here, everyone I know is in peak student-income and I get jokes all the time about how I've spent all this money on toys. Little do they know I haven't even got half of them! (Don't want them, thankfully).

Marth arrived today from Nintendo's UK Store. Packaged up well and looks pretty good.

29 here....Military, married with 3 kids.
I use my children as an excuse to buy Amiibos. lmao.
turning 29 next month with a 6 year old son. "hey son, you want these"? ok lets buy them all. no you cant play with them, they are in a display case. LOL

I'm 41 married with two kids. I have wave 1 and 2 with all of wave 3 preordered except for Rosalina. I'm really close to selling them all off in one big lump. They're all sealed still.

I am! :D
I'll be 32 in April and I'm still as big a Nintendo fan as ever so I don't forsee myself suddenly not enjoying the hobby I've always loved any time soon.
I'm definitely not embarrassed about collecting amiibo figures and have met several friendly, like-minded collectors online and in my travels.
Hell, I was partly inspired to create http://amiibros.com/ because of all the people I met that asked me what amiibo are/how they work while I was out hunting for the latest figures! :)

If you're over thirty you should be passed the point where you care about what other people think about what you have in your own home. :P

Agreed, so much! :)

I realized earlier to day that you are on my XBox Live friend list. I wonder how we were connected. The only time I remember actively seeking out people to add was when I was playing Powerstar Golf, so must be that?

I'm 36 and actually stopped at a toys r us on the way home from work today to see if they had a Fox... So ashamed...

Thank god for the internet

Edit:

To be clear don't feel bad for getting a few amiibos, it more going into toysrus. Best buy/Walmart ect is fine

He guys, sorry last night. I had really been on edge all week over getting a Rosalina Amiibo. And then when it went up after I stepped away for 5 min, it felt super shitty. And then I thought about how, if I messed up on Wave 4 pre-orders or, if I couldn't get all of Wave 3 too...

I started to see a pattern of bad feelings. And since I'm really fighting hard to stay positive given all of my emotional struggles. I just wanted collecting to be fun and positive. And the way Nintendo is going about doing these releases (lack of info, erratic pre-order times, scattered release dates, lack of supply, discontinuing figures)....I just started to realize that, they really aren't making this fun/positive to collect these.

But, after spending the night thinking about this. I just realized that, this community is what makes it fun for me. I just need to chill out, and stop worrying about getting every single Amiibo. I really want every single one, just because having a complete Smash line is a goal, and it would make me really happy. But, I also can't continue being so on edge over it either. I need this to be a fun thing, and not a negative thing.

I know this sounds pathetic. Just keep in mind, this isn't really about Amiibos. And my reaction last night was not normal. I'm just, going through a lot of stuff related to my cancer still. So I'm very on guard and want to make sure I stay in a positive space. I want to stay active in this community, if you guys will have me. If you can forgive me. I just want to continue building up the community and focusing on the positive aspects. Focusing on having fun collecting, and helping out my friends. So even if I don't end up getting every pre-order or every amiibo, the community would still be that positive thing that makes collecting fun and worth it.

I dunno. What do you guys think?

Not married (have a GF that lives with me that collects amiibos).

So yeah, not married. No kids, lol under 30.

Kind of, lmao.
I do let them play with the amiibos but its pretty monitored.
Touch the nfc on the gamepad and put the figure back on the shelf type of deal.

Ugh. I did a really good job for the whole last week not stressing out about wave 4 pre-orders, but I was sure they'd go up today. This is so annoying.

It's been a productive morning for me! I changed my mind (again) and decided to get a display case after all. After some input from amiibo-gaf and elsewhere I decided on the DETOLF glass-door cabinet from IKEA. I plan on doing some custom lighting for it later. I'll post pics when I get it put together and the first few amiibos inside.

Also, I was able to acquire a WFT from a guy at my local GameStop. It was in his personal collection - not from the store. The GS sales rep could not confirm or deny when the new wave would go up for pre-order. In fact, he seemed disinterested in it altogether. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I realized earlier to day that you are on my XBox Live friend list. I wonder how we were connected. The only time I remember actively seeking out people to add was when I was playing Powerstar Golf, so must be that?

Yep! I played Powerstar Golf a lot right after I bought the Xbone. Sadly, I have used it sparingly since then. Although I do use it for blurays a few times a week. It's cool that you are a fellow amiibo aficionado too!

I dunno. What do you guys think?

Go for every one you want. If that's EVERY Amiibo, go for it. BUT, if you spend more than a reasonable amount of time obsessing over it, just stop and move on. You should hunt. It's fun to hunt. Scoring that rare figure is a great feeling. However, that doesn't mean you should sit at your computer 20 hours a day, jamming F5.

If there's an Amiibo out there that you absolutely must have, pay scalper prices if it's worth that much to you. If not, shrug it off, and look for that next one while keeping your eye out for restocks.

26 years old! There is no shame in buying amiibo for me. No kids, no excuses, just love the little guys. Even took my Kirby to work a couple of times because he has a calming effect on me lol hell I carry around my 3ds to the gym and play it while I wait for my pre workout kicks in. (Speical edition Pokemon x and y btw)

Shame is thought I banished long ago!!

Yeah, I'm done being obsessed with it. Not worth the hassle/stress. I'm actually okay not getting every single one anymore. I'm just going to focus on the community aspect. ie. organizing things, and making sure other people get the things they need. Helping out others is what made me super happy.

I realized that, being stressed over getting each amiibo, was not good. But building up the community and making sure other people got amiibos they had missing, that is what was really awesome. So that's what I'll focus on.

Of course, I still want to get every amiibo if possible. But I'm not going to make it my focus anymore.
